Finally they are getting rid of js stuff for core OS components. And also good that they made a clear choice in MS UI frameworks, there are far too many.
I wouldn't give them that much credit.They likely won't scrap the react native tooling but rather move the compositor deeper into the shell to reduce abstraction performance hits. Their 'choice' of removing version numbers seems like more of a PR thing to limit comparisons between versions similar to their 'last version' stunt with W10.
Either way, actions speak louder than words and with a track record like MS, those actions have been less than honest in the past.
Now that their data centers are actually hogging all the RAM, they might attempt to do something people actually want and improve a product.
