It's the third time they've released the same game. What did they expect? Adding three new prequel missions to the story isn't enough for a $50 price tag.
343 might be called Halo Studios now, but they're still the same as they've always been: trying to keep making bland stories/remakes of a once great franchise.
Just to further your point.
This is technically the 4th time they have released this game in 25 years.
Halo: Combat Evolved - 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary - 2011 Halo: MCC - 2014 And now Campaign Evolved.
I know MCC is just a collection of all the games, but it is a re-release of Anniversary.
I didn't know about 2011's release. That makes it even more pathetic.
Do any of the three support split screen? No? Fuck 'em.
Every single time.
The new one does
It has no multiplayer beyond co-op and it has horrible performance issues on PC - Windows or Linux. I refunded it on Steam.
Even the console versions have bad bugs - random disconnects, you can’t go both ways around the island on The Silent Cartographer, and you can’t rebind buttons that are already bound without the game resetting after closing the game - ask me how I know all this.
Well, only the mighty Todd can sell the same game several times and still turn it into profit.
UE5 slop
Once again, why would I buy this when it already exists in MCC in a way better form?
It is different, the only things that are the same are some of the stage designs and the plot.
I actually like the gameplay changes, level tweaks, and new graphics but the performance and voice acting are so bad.
I think the point has been missed. Why was it that it was called Combat Evolved in the first place? Its because the AI was goddamn alive compared to everything before. I dont think I even need to go into detail if you're a gamer, it slapped that hard. But is that interesting today? Do they even reimplement that? Or is it trying some meta marketing as being "the first halo again". Either way, the changes you mention with no focus on what the original sold on tells me what I already know, they are lost in the sauce of the IP. They dont know what made the original what it was.
I'd be curious what the play stats look like for PlayStation though. Xbox and PC has had this game multiple times, but this is a new platform option for those who are exclusive to PS.
