Awesome! Hopefully the cross instance struggle sessions aren't too crazy, for when y'all decide to federate

They have higher energy than we do. I hope we can simply agree to disagree on their points where they engage in tailism, ultra-ism, and other various forms of liberalism and counter-revolutionary thought. Though these points are few, I am a stickler on some of them and I may have to have a near-cry moment if they come in and take over entirely. Hexbear/chapo is something best done in limited doses. Whereas this place is very chill and cool and I feel very safe here with all my good comrades (and friendly federal agents pretending to be comrades, lest I leave them out), they can be chaotic, unhinged, wild. Not always a bad thing but I need a space to turn it off.

I have faith in both our admins in banning the worst offenders and their admins on banning any planned brigades into here

[-] C4RCOSA@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I can assure you there will be no lemmygrad brigades, that energy would be better funneled into the current war against liberalism on the wider fediverse

[-] ImOnADiet@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

I didn't really think so but I was trying to say if for some reason some hexbearians started getting real rowdy about lemmygrad I think y'all are great admins and wouldn't let it happen

Also I love you, I click on your profile and the only other thing is another post poking at lemmy libs haha

[-] C4RCOSA@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

they used the purge function twice on my lemmy account deleting all the posts and comments under the excuse I was spamming despite making unique posts & comments

I'm extremely new here but I'm looking forward to it already. Both instances are very cool in their different ways, and the more leftists the merrier.

Should be interesting, I'm really looking forward to the emojis. Didn't expect it to happen so soon.

[-] PoY@lemmygrad.ml -1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

to be honest i'd rather no emojis but ¯\(ツ)

On a related note, I only browse Local ever since I signed up here a year ago and iirc back then Lemmy itself sometimes had less activity than lemmygrad. Because of this post I just checked it out again and fucking hell it's grown.

If/when hexbear federates just between them, lemmy and us the fediverse should be over 2k daily users soon.

[-] ImOnADiet@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

It's already there, lemmy.world alone is taking us over 2k daily users

[-] KommandoGZD@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

I was gonna edit my post, because I clicked around some more and saw that too. There's even a Porn lemmy now lmao. Mad how much everything has grown. Is all of that from the reddit thing or has it been growing over the past year?

[-] ImOnADiet@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

vast majority of it is from the reddit thing. It had nice slow growth the last year but it exploded the last couple weeks

[-] KommandoGZD@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

Wild. I dismissed the reddit thing as some niche, performative stunt a few libs there would screech about for a day or two and didn't really pay attention to it beyond that. Didn't expect more than a couple handful of people making the switch tbh...seems like I was off by an order of magnitude or two lol

Hope hexbear joins soon, then the based peoples combined can effectively stir some shit on /All and scare the libs there

[-] ImOnADiet@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago

tbh I thought they might get bored and leave soon too, but it's honestly starting to reach the point where we're starting to see actual network effects popping up, I honestly think most of these new users will stay.

And I have the same hope about hexbear lol

[-] OrnluWolfjarl@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

Well it seems reddit admins stepped in, removed the mods of the blackout subs and reopened them. This pissed off a lot of people.

[-] ergifruit@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

and now half the posts on Reddit are gonna be low effort garbage and bots. which is exactly what it deserves, but it's still a bummer for the niche subreddits.

[-] CarlMarks@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

Thanks for not saying, "another kkkracka down unlimited genocide on the first world" during your announcement that hexbear would be joining these TANKIES. That took a lot of restraint.

What a sacrifice :D

[-] Alaskaball@lemmygrad.ml 0 points 1 year ago

I forgot I even had an account here lmao

[-] DarthCaedus@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

It feels weird seeing an Alaskaball comment outside the news mega.

[-] OliveLoaf@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Same, this is my first comment in two years.
