What in the generative AI nonsense is that header image? A mysterious man is lasering the moon, while his crotch ray attacks a low-flying jet and another beam shoots from his briefcase towards parts unknown, and a confusing late-night aerobatic demonstration takes place in the background?

It seems like you’re challenging the journalistic quality of the bastion that is newsbreak.com.

The new American dick-laser. It’s a super weapon five times more destructive than the death star

[-] MagicShel@programming.dev 5 points 10 months ago

If anyone invented a dick laser, it would certainly be us.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Us (the us) or Russia.

We both have the qualities necessary to think that were a good idea.

"Hey let's try to blind the people piloting large metal objects hundreds or thousands of feet in the air, potentially causing a crash! I always have the best ideas."

Driving the Aerial Bacon away with laser pointers only works if you have dozens of people participating. Otherwise you're just shining a beacon at the people inside, straight from your own hand.

[-] Sharpiemarker@startrek.website 7 points 10 months ago

That's a paddlin'

[-] Deceptichum@kbin.social 5 points 10 months ago

How do they track down who was shining it?

[-] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

It's shockingly easy to get a location on a really bright, stationary, directed beam of light.

[-] Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

If you are pointing with it, it is literally pointing back at you

Right but in the dark you can only see a general area below you unless you're already close to the ground. And even then all you have to do is....not be standing in the same place for hours at a time

LuL. I just cancelled today's laser to helecop game
