This is exactly how I felt on reddit! With Kbin I feel more at "home", with reddit I felt distant, the same with most other social media platforms. I feel like me and others feel less stressed when contributing to a discussion here compared to how I felt on reddit.

I think I just found my new favorite magazine

I fully support this, I recently tried to watch all of Pokémon to get caught up after hearing they were making a new season (Pokémon new horizons)

the only place I found I could watch most of the seasons without paying like 5 subscription based services was archive.org because someone posted s1-s19, along with generations and origins on there (along with the every movie in order of when they were released up to "Volcanion and the mechanical marvel")

I wouldn't fuss about it if all of the seasons were on one subscription based service like Netflix, but I'm not paying multiple subscriptions for 1 show.

But, if you don't care about season 2-22 or just don't mind not watching them, Pokémon tv just released the final episodes for Season 24 so they have season 1, 23, and 24, plus the slim possibility that they will release season 25 (keep in mind they release an episode and a special set of episodes relating to a theme every 1-2 weeks, normally on Fridays)

I didn't even realize I did that, but I'm keeping it because I like it too

This is very true, I've noticed I've had more free time and others have as well since the start of the end for reddit, reddit was extremely addictive and now people either have to find an alternative, which isn't easy if you use reddit for most of your information or entertainment, or stay on the platform where worse mods are replacing the subs' old mods and most the site is dead.

I say give it a few or 2 and it should die down a lot more as people become more comfortable with the alternatives they chose.

I'm beginning to migrate from Windows to Linux, here are some foss apps I use:

• Blender -for 3d modelling
• Godot - Because im working to be a game dev
• Incscape and paint.net - for general raster artwork
• Brave - My primary browser
• VScode - I just prefer C# over godot's built in GDscript (Not to say GDscript is bad its a nice language but I just prefer C# as I used to use unity)

I agree, right after getting used to swapping from reddit to kbin, it felt more like I was part of a community! I like to think reddit was a large city and kbin is a small village that is gradually growing.

I'm really glad I took the opportunity to swap from reddit to kbin, I already feel happier on the site and I haven't even been here for a week. I definitely feel like more people should swap which thankfully most likely will happen as reddit dies down.

I agree, it definitely was uncomfortable moving from reddit at first, but seeing how familiar the site was, and how much nicer the community is, it feels more like an upgrade than just swapping platforms.

Also, I didn't expect the protest would have so much of an impact, but I'm all for it!
