The freedoms in question: Owning wage slaves.

I think that 99% of people will have greater freedom under socialism, where they will recieve a good wage, and not have to work.

And having trees and nature near urban venters is very much desirable, to help with air pollution (tho really not a lot), heat concentration and humidity.

I have been seeing plenty of guillhotine and mollotov jokes here, and as the title says, punching nazis.

I've been reading a book about nonviolence and anarchism, and he basically shows how we shouldn't use violence, even in extreme cases (like neo nazis).

The main argument is that the means dictates the ends, so if we want a non violent (and non opressing) society, punching people won't help.

And if it is just a joke, you should probably know that some people have been jailed for decades because of jokes like these (see: avoiding the fbi, second chapter of the book above).

Obviously im up for debate, or else I wouldn't make this post. And yes, I do stand for nonviolence.

(english is not my first language, im sorry if I made errors, or wansn't clear.)

(if this is not pertinent, I can remake this post in c/politics or something)

(the book is The Anarchist Cookbook by Keith McHenry, if you are downloading from the internet, make sure you download it from the correct author, there is another book with the same name.)

No script help. (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) by ChilledPeppers@lemmy.world to c/privacy@lemmy.ml

Hey guys, I have been seeing a lot of people talking good things about noscript, I have a few questions about it:

  • Why isn't it open source? Is there a open source alternative? To me this kinda feels suspicious, installing an extension that can affect all tabs from outside the Mozzila store, while not even open source...
  • How to minimize damage? After briefly trying it on, I couldn't interact with lemmy anymore, many websites lost their dark mode, youtube wasn't pausing the video, nor was the like button working...
  • Is it really needed? What kind of threat model makes something like that needed? Wouldn't it be possible to just add other sources for uBlock to block tracking scripts or something?

Um acttschually, we knew about induced demand as early as 1920, but the government just doesn't care about science. (It used to be called traffic generation)

Dude, your instance is all about trans people? I am kinda new here (6 months?), and I almost never see any hate speech towards trans people, at most some comment with 50 downvotes that is going to me deleted by a mod in a couple odd hours…

And maybe you are confusing leftists with tankies. Tankies think that russia and china are ok, because they are anti-us imperialism, and defend the soviet union because it was socialist and what not. Most leftist here aren’t tankies, and they recognize that china, russia and the ussr where/are brutal regimes that killed thousands. We still want socialism, but we don’t support genocide because you pretend to be socialist/anti capitalist/imeperialist…

I am Brazilian, so they are really common, and wild, people drink piss, shave peoples hair, ruin people’s clothes, get drunk, and once a person even died, how are they, if they exist in you country?

[-] ChilledPeppers@lemmy.world 38 points 7 months ago

yes, and we could add one more rail to make it not need a battery at all. I think that would be a nice addition, as batteries are expensive…
