What do you mean? We're watching it happen in real time right now with people; vtubers learned to put on costumes of animals, insects or even mythical creatures to get weird internet losers to give them money to feed themselves.

You also have that giant cockroach that learned to put on a human skin called asmongold to get people to subscribe to its twitch channel.

His right wing bubble were happy to talk about their attraction to kids until Milo brought up his interest in young boys, then they all mentally turned into vulnerable little children themselves and canceled him out of fright

If only they could develop empathy and put their efforts to good use

But of course people like that think of empathy as a sin, or a weakness to be exploited

Okay, well I just opened up a random episode and saw (what hopefully was just a bad dub rather than the intended dialogue) a (virus?) get swallowed up by an antibody (that then dies) and one of the characters shows up and says "Never trust a stranger, outsiders are dangerous"; I understand the context but that's kind of...uhm....not great. Perhaps later they have a vaccine or antibiotic show up and revise their considerations? Cause that line is just.....not great.

Wait, that cartoon was French? I thought it was an anime! I grew up watching it; couldn't comprehend what it was trying to teach but I had fun watching the show. Tempted to try and dig it up for nostalgia's sake.

I hear what you're saying, but if this was true, Mccarthyism would've led to a second USSR, not the normalization of people rejecting their own human rights

I actually kinda agree on the effort-taste ratio; I ordered one of these on Qatar's version of Uber eats and it's extremely tasty vs the effort expended

Finding out the Soviet Union actually helped free so many colonized nations in Africa kind of broke my heart; I'd never heard about it before, and now I wonder how much better the world could have been if they hadn't been torn down

The end of the Soviet Union has been a disaster for the human race and Western nations

I remember asking on reddit before the election that if Trump and the Republican party are so bad then why don't we revoke Trump's citizenship and people (libs) freaked the heck out; lots of 'You can't defeat tyranny by becoming tyrants! Then you just have tyranny!', or 'That's a catch 22! You're trying to defeat tyranny by becoming a tyrant!', or 'behaving like this is what dictatorships do, and if you want to see what a dictatorship looks like, then wait until Trump wins!'

For reference and the irony:

EDIT (the actual link; I linked the wrong page): https://www.reddit.com/r/TooAfraidToAsk/comments/1dssr87/if_trump_or_the_republican_party_is_actually_that/

So basically don't fix the problem via the method that Republicans would absolutely fix theirs

I would go back and ask all these people how it's going now but they've spent the whole time since Kamala lost herself the election blaming the rest of us

Also the post is downvoted to zero because

Also some comment about something something iphones can't cheeseburgers

Came here to say this; how many politicians they find agreeable were committing SV in their past while this guy borrowed a table?

Unfortunately they're morally consistent; the people they're trying to warn aren't bothered with SV because they're the kind of people who either committed it themselves or would have liked to, meanwhile Mamdani's perceived attitude towards private property is of far more immediate concern to them.

Would love to know where this guy stood on the queen, given your average Brit's worship of the royal family vs being an 'Israeli'

I ask because on basically every post of a video where no Chinese person is doing something bad, people immediately rush to calling it staged; Chinese person provides a needy person a meal? Staged. Chinese person offers meals for free to earthquake rescue workers? Staged. Chinese person helps someone across a road? Staged. Uyghur just operating a stand being asked by an American tourist if they're living peacefully (to which they laugh and say yes)? Staged, or even saying yes because their lives depend on it.

Chinese person being racist however? Real. Chinese person yelling at someone and being rude? Real.

You know that racist trope people have of folks in Africa all believing in different superstitions or something? That's the average American; the bizarre folklore we've created of people around the world would make Tolkien's work seem like low fantasy.

Is it perhaps that white savior movies have rotted people's brains, and they're all imagining their normalcy would make them superior beings in foreign countries?

Bruh, where do I start with this.

So first he talks about the Taliban having kidnapped several tourists based on US news, and while on the face of it it's all definitely stuff that's been reported.....but it's like, okay, what did the Taliban say about why they imprisoned those people? Did they have reason to potentially believe they were spies? Did they ACTUALLY take those people hostage or were they temporarily in prison for breaking a law?

Additionally....WE kidnap people; there's literally civilians in Guantanamo who'll never see their families again (AND they're horrifically tortured); and there's people in border camps, entire families which includes children.

The guy finally at some point has an encounter with the Taliban aaaaand....they check his permits, see everything's okay, and then just leave, politely saying goodbye.

He says there's only two things illegal to film in Afghanistan: military stuff and women; he admittedly says the military stuff is reasonable but doesn't sound convinced in regards to women. Bruh, I'm working in Qatar and the women here don't want to be filmed, and they're protected by law from it (in one case a woman I work with went to the cops about it, and in another case a different woman I know literally yanked a phone from a Norwegian's hand to personally delete a video he'd taken of her (he thought she hadn't noticed)); the law reflects the culture just like it does back home.

He meets two Afghan Americans (they were born and raised in the states and went back to live in Afghanistan instead) and they were saying that it's nothing like they've seen on the news and the guy has to basically pause and say it must be at least partly according to the news. BRO, YOU'RE SEEING WITH YOUR OWN EYES, EXPERIENCING IT YOURSELF THAT IT'S NOT LIKE THE NEWS HAS BEEN TELLING EVERYONE! HOW ARE YOU DENYING YOUR OWN EYES AND YOUR OWN LIVED EXPERIENCE THAT MATCHES THEIR DESCRIPTION!

He also says towards the end that yes, he's had a good experience with the Taliban but that all it takes is 'one a-hole to f' it all up'; Bro, YOU'RE being that a-hole! You think back home it's just that one a-hole cop to f' everything up for you? A cop could mistake the phone in your hand for a gun and shoot you and he'd most likely get away with it.

How is this guy insisting on disbelieving his own eyes, that instead the news HAS to be correct? Why are people like this?

This country is something else

Been learning Arabic and it was hilarious to find out hummus starts with the same letter as Hamas

Of course only one will be pronounced in the scary way, because propagandists treat their audience like idiots (which, fair play, is usually correct; we're talking about the same people easily played by 'journalists' calling five year old Hind Rajab a 'young lady', or who use passive language to refer to Israel murdering people as having died when they were struck by gunfire)

I learned some Arabic but the accent here is way too strong for me to catch anything. Regardless I'm glad the people in the West Bank are getting a good laugh, I just wish the girl had hidden her face; Israelis will absolutely be bloodthirsty enough to possibly try going after her.

An Arab nurse was turned out of a shelter by people he'd treated. Not surprising; it's a story of racism I hear from the UK as well; of patients who refuse care by non-white doctors, or take the help but treat them in racist fashion.

If we don't get on top of this we'll never be ready for the 2026 world cup

'History repeats itself' wasn't supposed to be advice; plus there's supposed to be more than just 20 years in-between.

I thought libs were making the claim that we all learned from the Iraq war? Heck, Iraq and Iran are nearly the same word but with one letter difference!

I used to watch her stuff from time to time, but her last video says it was over a month ago
