if there isn’t a strong labor movement keeping it the fuck in check.

Agreed.

Maybe the best thing about how awful the last two presidents have been for working people is that unions had to become stronger and more aggressive by necessity, and they did.

all the people who make things operate should get paid a fuckin living wage

Agreed. Unfortunately, it's just not going to happen in America. This entire country is founded on the principle of extracting as much value from labor as possible without compensating them fairly.

Sadly, it is not.

Democrats could have implemented a universal health care system under Obama, but chose not to. They, as much as Republicans, are profiting from the price gouging in our health care system.

Headlines like this are a good reminder of my prime directive: Don't donate money to political parties. Both Harris and Trump have billionaires in their corner and they don't need your money.

Instead, donate to your friends' mutual aid requests or invest it in your own stocks and investments. These candidates aren't going to do anything meaningful to change your station in life, but they will make a trillion dollars appear out of thin air overnight to avoid a major drop in the stock market and your $10-$20 could mean the difference between skipping a day of food and eating for someone you know and love.

I spent twelve years in a support job I hated, but I learned every new thing I possibly could, and being able to create things that did the jobs of two-to-three people got me the job I have now, which I love.

So my advice is to say yes any time new technology is introduced and learn how to use it. Any time you feel like something takes to long, go online and research ways to simplify it and find fixes.

That work can and does pay off. People will see it.

Also, if a job is making your life hard, be more willing to change than I was. I'm glad things turned out well for me, but being in a job that stressed me so much could have created real health problems over time.

Yup, and this is what every single protest needs to be doing.

You can be nonviolent, but if you want change, there has to be a very real threat to the status quo.

Depends on the country, but the more important point is universal: adopt a defensive mindset and the means to fulfill it.

Please do not spread misinformation in order to entertain yourself.

Solid possibility.

Yes, probably, but I want to think in my mind that it was something super chaotic and daring, like a furry super-villain.

I wonder what Max did to get banished from the library.

Acquire some means of personal defense, also.

Mace, stun gun, etc. I carry a pocket stun gun because in my city there is occasionally violence on the public bus.

In a groundbreaking experiment, Japanese researchers transferred regenerative genes to fruit flies, leading to improved intestinal health and enhanced stem cell activity. This discovery opens new possibilities for anti-aging strategies in higher organisms, including humans, through targeted gene therapy.

I'm sharing this because it's fun, and can be a nice diversion from all the doomscrolling. There are lots of puzzles and random digital knick knacks. Enjoy!

Just another example of something that could be universal if we taxed the rich appropriately.

I just thought it would be cool to put this out there. The Satellites featured several local skaters from Fountain City Roller Derby: Tiff (a former Team USA skater), Mel Malice, Aneeda Hurtcha, Annie Maul, and Queen of Hurts. As if that wasn't cool enough, Olympic Gold Medalist Erin Jackson was also skating for the Satellites.

Pretty. Effing. Rad.

If you're interested in checking out roller derby, you can find more info on fountaincityrollerderby.com.

Personally, my favorite is the Viking of Stamford Bridge. The thought that one man taking out 40 English soldiers and completely altering history in one epic fight is just awesome, and no one recorded his name.

They just gave him a kickass title instead.

Awesome.

This is the picture I like to show artists when they hate their stuff after a single layer of work, because I hate all of my stuff after a single layer of work, but it's important to remember it's a process.
