it's not a pacemaker though, it's a hammer. and sometimes the head flies off a hammer and hits someone in the skull. but no one disputes the fact that hammers are essential tools.

you're getting down voted because you accurately conceive of and treat LLMs the way they should be—as tools. the people down voting you do not have this perspective because the only perspective pushed to people outside of a technical career or research is "it's artificial intelligence and it will revolutionize society but lol it hallucinates if you ask it stuff". This is essentially propaganda because the real message should be "it's an imperfect tool like all tools but boy will it make getting a lot of certain types of work done way more efficient so we can redistribute our own efforts to other tasks quicker and take advantage of LLMs advanced information processing capabilities"

tldr: people disagree about AI/LLMs because one group thinks about them like Dr. Know from the movie A.I. and the other thinks about them like a TI-86+ on steroids

i imagine this would be fun once when novel and then very irritating every other time

Voices of the Void on Itch.io. it's sort of like xfiles: the rpg. you live in a satellite field and you use old equipment to track suspicious signals from space and sell them off for upgrades and supply money. Things.... happen. while you're carrying out this peaceful existence. suspicious, freaky things. 🛸

it's been out for a couple years now and it's very far in development but they are saving the steam listing for a more full release.

edit: go into this game blind

i don't think people need to justify Airbnb's, it's a great alternative to a hotel for many reasons including those you listed. What needs to be addressed is the damage the shareholders who are running the company are doing to society. let's not give them too much credit about this choice: they are still sucking up homes from homeowners and removing money from the middle class. they only made this change because someone realized it will make them more money.

they literally just said they've been the same size since grade school. this is what you do: -go into shoe store. -grab pair of shoes in same size you currently wear. -too big? grab a size down. too small? go up. -stand in line and purchase shoes -leave store with dignity in tact from small feet shame

***BONUS POINTS if an employee tries to help you and you tell them "I'm okay, i can handle it."

[–] FunnyUsername@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

why....why do you keep getting your feet sized if they haven't grown since childhood??? you know your size! be a man and pick out your own fucking shoes!

[–] FunnyUsername@lemmy.world 31 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

so....they intentionally lied to artificially increase demand and make their product look more compelling? can we get some fucking consumer protections regulations for fucks sake?? they're killing us out there

if it's anything like the other ai features they offer, it will be garbage and never work and slow everything down

What do you guys think about Walmart+? Service has good value, or just another way a company can suck more money out of consumers while providing the bare minimum of service and quality?

This is happening to me a number of times now and I can't figure out why. I'll be trying to have a conversation through comments and I'll run into a commenter I want to reply to from kbin, And I'll type up my comment and get ready to hit post but then it just fails over and over. I've only noticed it on that server

I've been playing the original again and it's the first time since the big backwards update from Below Zero, and for the most part I'm appreciating the improvements. But I'm wondering if anyone has noticed any weirdness with progression now? It's hard for me to tell since playing it after you know everything is so much different, but it really feels like they piled on too many blueprints right around when you get the all purpose circular room. Suddenly I have all these rooms and glass options on top of the normal game progression, and it sort of feels...dirty? Like I got end game content too soon? It's like there's barely anything to unlock anymore and I haven't even made it to the lost river. I think I wish they put a little more thought into the timing of dropping.tvose blueprints, or maybe even hiding them in the game world.

Is there anything you've noticed different in the game that you like playing after the update? That you didn't like? It does run smoother in general so that's nice, way less popping!

Thanks for reading ✌️
