It makes sense on paper – we need to make every dollar we have count towards building our economy strong enough to resist American economic pressure, and the spaces highlighted are rational partners to pursue for us. I hope that this does show promising returns not just for us, but our new trade partners as we all work to develop new routes of trade.

Exactly – this is all about competition against the Ambassador bridge, because it'll impact the profits for them. If they wanted to see profits from the Gordie Howe, they could have stood a little taller and not let themselves get lobbied out of it.

Beat the Swiss 4-0 Saturday, and Czechia 5-1 Monday – our women's team looks better than some of our NHL teams out there. It's making me want to start watching the PWHL and pick up a Spectres jersey!

They've somewhat fallen into the same trap Valve did with Half Life 3, and nothing they put up will live up to the nostalgia of Skyrim for many players no matter what, as it'll never recapture the magic many of the fanbase felt when they first played it (at least that's my take). It's been overhyped, and people will have some unrealistic expectations no matter what.

I think sidelining the next installment was a misstep on BGS' part, and now they risk alienating the player base of one of their two largest IPs; don't get me wrong, it'll probably sell incredibly well, but I think there's just no way it'll be as well-received as they would want it to be.

On a more positive note though , I hope that whatever they deliver brings improvements rather than downgrades – I want to see a better magic system taking inspiration from competitors and previous installments, a return to NPC schedules (looking at you Starfield 😒), and hopefully prioritizing world-space content over a large open world map. Even if it's more of the same, as long as the story is fun, the NPCs are well-written, and the systems aren't a pain to engage with, it'll live up to my expectations.

Me, personally, I have slowly started to shift towards "bones-only" storytelling for my campaign settings – I build a loose plot, some NPCs tied to it, locations and a few bigger encounters. Beyond that, I want my players to not feel railroaded to encourage them to think creatively in each session, as it helps me as a GM enjoy the session more when players aren't always looking to me to tell them what they should do next. I also usually stockpile a bunch of pre-baked generic encounters, NPCs, shops and such so that I can keep up with their story and choices.

Oh, for real? Thanks, I'll check it out - appreciate it buddy!

Edit: Just check it out, and it's honestly got a alot (almost all) of the features I'm looking for, including a Canadian English language option. It sucks that it doesn't seem to have custom roles/tags or custom emojis, but aside from that it being able to pin messages, have separate channels and voice rooms and being E2E encrypted are ticking the right boxes for me.

Oh ABSOLUTELY, those are our tax dollars at work, we need to milk the ROI on it now – and taking traffic from the Ambassador Bridge and cashflow from the Moroun family is just the extra high stick to the face we like to see.

You know, alongside the comment about China "eating us up" and leaving them the leftovers sounding like obvious projection, I wouldn't doubt anymore that banning hockey in Canada is something that admin has talked about in their annexation fantasy.

Tech amateur here, so pardon my ignorance, but I think we should also be looking not to just cut off Microsoft but also make the painful choice to start migrating to Linux as our primary OS provider. It'll be a learning curve, but the functionality and security opportunities are plentiful in comparison.

Trying to get my friend group to switch over to Stoat (formerly Revolt) as soon as possible – I think Matrix is a harder sell for people not already in the federated spaces, or non-tech savvy people, but I'm hoping it fits the need.

I think the RTO is a major misstep being pushed by commercial real-estate lobbyists in Queen's Park, trying to avoid major impacts to the commercial real estate market. Personally, even my company (one of the largest alternative energy providers in North America) has been incredibly lax on their hybrid model, they've shuttered at least 2-3 office spaces in Canada in the last five years, and I don't expect that trajectory to change. Of course, this is personal experience, but personally I would say the cards show that Hybrid/Remote is going to win out eventually.

I remember that last June, when Sol Mamakwa was thrown out of Queen's Park that one day in protest of Bill 5, I swear the press barely referred to her by name until deep into the articles.

I see her stuff, and some other NDP MPs frequently but I wonder whether their communications are reaching broadly enough to local Ontarians to show off that the NDP still have skin in the game.
