Not sure how long but definitely 10+ years here. I didn’t comment much but when I did, it was to help people in the Unix subreddits (Linux / Ubuntu / elementaryOS / macOS / macOS Patching scene).

I was very active in the Mojave and Catalina patcher subreddits, as well as Opencore legacy. I replaced all my comments with “fuck spez” before nuking everything some time later.

Nah, Diablo works fine on Linux.

I would stay away from Manjaro, it has a history or being unreliable due to the holding back updates for 2 weeks. EndeavourOS is getting recommended a lot recently, I’d go with that instead!

Hey there! I've tried many distros in the past and always come back to Arch :) I'm pretty familiar with how it works, where to find information, the AUR, etc.! Thanks!

305

I've been debating making the switch for a long time, but after spending like a week researching Proton, Lutris etc. on Linux, I decided to try it out and nuked my entire Windows 11 drive. :)

So far, every game I threw at it works perfectly fine, including Elden Ring & Cyberpunk.

I had to spend a little time troubleshooting some small issues but it's part of the fun!

Specs are in the neofetch, my compositor / WM is Wayfire (Wayland) :)

Okay that is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I love them so much ❤️

I quit Facebook a long time ago when I wasn't out yet, but the hate there was atrocious. Recently, I quit Twitter because of all the LGBTQ+ hate, especially the trans hate movements, it's just a lot of negativity and weight on our mental health. Meanwhile, you have Mastodon & Lemmy, where there's a lot of LGBTQ+ folks, tech-enthousiasts, etc. and people are just nice to talk too and interact with. I think it's a bit obvious why we're moving away..

I have gingivitis, hereditary. So I strictly brush after every meal, and try not to forget to floss. My mom wasn’t as rigorous and now she has major teeth and gum issues, so I don’t want to end up the same way.

The card may have been damaged, but before assuming that, I’d run DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Tell the software the card model is AMD, let it remove everything and reboot. Then, redownload the AMD software and see if it helps. If not, we’ll see from there.

I've been avoiding instagram / Facebook for as long as I can remember, by coming here and on Mastodon instead. I think it'd suck if they federated with us here. Plus I don't know the situation in the US (I'm Canadian), but having such a big company joined on a queer / LGBTQ+ friendly instance is rubbing me the wrong way..

Oh for sure. I’m sure they already noticed it. But I think a lot of users who are not so tech savvy will be rebutted by the whole “instance” and “federation” things. It’s not super intuitive for most people how it works yet

OMG, I literally JUST migrated manually to a new account haha. Awesome little tool, however. Will be sending it to my friends who are thinking of migrating away from lemmy.world.

Seriously, I've used the app for a while before finding out about Sync back when I used Android, then Apollo on iOS. I almost never browsed on mobile before then, it's absolutely terrible. I guess "normal" everyday users don't care, because they don't necessarily know they have alternatives, however. Guess this is what spez is banking on.
