The origin story of how a town near me got it's name was that the monks that founded the abbey in an area known as Garibaldi's Station due to an Italian man who lived there and operated a coaling station on the railroad. The story goes that when the Pope was told the name to Officially ordain it or whatever he refused to have an abbey called Garibaldi after so recently losing so much land and power to the man.

Say what you will about Tom but he didn't hire no scab to get Jerry

I remember reading something that he dreamed of leading a grand slave revolt from Brazil and into the US where all of the new world would be liberated. I also see that he supported the first international and the French commune which is dope.

agony-limitless unhand the lathe.

It makes a lot of sense when you know that one of the early purchasers of this device was several police departments.

The ADE 651 "The device features a swiveling antenna attached to a plastic grip and requires charging by a user's static electricity. Users would insert "programmed substance detection cards" to supposedly detect specific substances, which were claimed to absorb the vapors of those substances. However, investigations revealed that the product was incapable of detecting anything, essentially being a dowsing rod. The ADE 651 was used primarily by Iraqi security forces for security checkpoints. Due to the false sense of security, many critics pointed to numerous incidents where bombings occurred despite the presence of the ADE 651 at security checkpoints, underscoring its ineffectiveness."

Sorry Colonel, I left the bomb smell card at base

The ADE 651 is a descendant of the Quadro Tracker Positive Molecular Locator produced in the 1990s by Wade Quattlebaum [NAME ALERT], an American car dealer, commercial diver and treasure hunter. The Quadro Tracker was promoted by Quattlebaum initially as a device to find lost golf balls, and later as a means of detecting marijuana, cocaine, heroin, gunpowder, and dynamite using "carbo-crystalised" software cards. Like the ADE 651, it consisted of a hand unit on which a swinging antenna was mounted, linked to a box worn on the belt in which the cards were inserted to identify the "molecular frequency" of whatever the user wanted to detect. The cards were "programmed" by photocopying a Polaroid photograph of the target, cutting up the resulting copy, and pasting the pieces between two squares of plastic. Quattlebaum sold the devices for between $395 and $8,000 for a unit claimed to be capable of detecting humans, using a Polaroid photograph of the individual concerned for the "programming." A cheaper variant called the Golfinder or Gopher was available for $69.

Nate Bethea once mentioned while he was deployed in Afghanistan his unit was trialing this equipment they said it could use sound to pinpoint the direction of gunshots. He said it was basically a boombox with a microphone strapped to it.

It's not looking good fam.

Sorry if I missed it but has anyone got anything about the claim that Israel assassinated Ahmadinejad?

My PC won't turn on. Haven't been able to set it up for a couple of months and so it's been sitting off in the corner of my room. I set everything up on my desk and I pressed the power button and nothing. I double-checked that the outlet it was plugged into worked and the button on the power supply was on but still nothing. I looked a little bit into it and saw people saying it might be the CMOS battery dying so I changed that and still no dice. I was wondering if you computer wizzes had any other things to check that might be causing this. Thanks in advance.

I try to keep as little in my pockets as possible, my left is charger, keys, and earbuds and my right is dedicated to phone.

All my mom watches is all of those Murder shows on cable like Forensic Files and the like. She's been watching this since I can remember and long before I ever heard the term "true crime". I legit think shows like this are why so many gen-x and boomers are terrified of the world. They all open talking about how the small town that the case happened in was using almost identical language each time, " here in x we don't lock our doors, everybody knows everybody, things don't happen like this in x, we stop and help people on theroad ". And as a person who grew up in a small town I'm like what? Everyone there is the most paranoid castle doctrine ass motherfucker I've ever met. They don't know their neighbors and they treat anyone who they don't know as threats. Then the show goes at lengths to show you how kind, pretty, full of life, etc the victim is so they can then go into detail about how they were brutalized.

I don't know where I'm going with this rant it's just something that's been on my mind for a while.

I don't know why I keep breaking the bot I'm so confused. thurston

Do police ever justify why when they're in a standoff with a person who doesn't have a hostage and can't hurt anyone else why they must breech and clear and murder them other than their bloodlust? We have gasses that can knock people out or maybe put some tranquilizer on those drones and robots they love to bomb people with. Hell even starving/thirsting them out is an option. A lot of the time these are mentally unwell people who just need help. Just something I was wondering because I never see it brought up when it happens.
