The pieces being in a plastic bag is bad enough on its own.

I've only had it quite that bad once when I just rebooted and it decided to pull an update. After that the bios was unable to find any of the bootloaders on my system. (Fixed with a lot fiddling from a liveusb. Is a dual boot system but I haven't touched Windows on it since 2023)

These other ones just made it unusable. Another time on a laptop it pulled updates in the background and would crash itself just after login. (Needed to be reinstalled and I lost some data which wasn't backed up yet. setup by manufacturer)

Then on a different desktop system it just would bsod every few minutes, barely leaving time to go through logs. (I finally fixed it by changing a BIOS setting and reinstalling Windows, setup by manufacturer installed Linux on a separate drive and it was fine until the drive malfunctioned)

This was not a crash, just a thirty minute delay. A couple of days ago that device did an update without me even logging in. I accidentally started windows, then immediately selected reboot in the power menu before entering a password. It then 'prepared' something and told me not to reboot, bypassed grub, rebooted again, bypassed grub (after I missed the bios), rebooted again back into grub.

The meme itself is also part of the Trust me, I'm an engineer! music video.

How am I the only one who does have annoying issues like this on Windows (except that Windows only gives a useless error code at most) while Linux has failed to boot a total of once (without me explicitly changing nvidia drivers).

Ah that one requires a mod/DLC, once installed just have two hetero Gregs sleep together and try for a baby. Soon one should be gregnant and form a baby in about 18 days.

Ah but unlike coffee DS9 is actually pretty good.

Have you attempted cloning yet? That only needs one person.

What on earth does the middle of that even mean? Urban dictionary was able to help a little with "glizzy" but I couldn't find a way to turn into a verb that makes sense. No clue what "no diffed" is supposed to mean. Diff as in difference?

Apart from power, washing bottoms, and laptops that is pretty close to what many people I know have. That certainly doesn't seem outlandish.

Now who's going to help with the wealth redistribution and logistics? I volunteer for helping with logistics. Anyone with pew pew experience want to try the wealth redistribution?

If this offer is still available I'd like a cool skirt with pockets and a comfy cloak that avoids dragging on stairs.

If you want to put in considerably less effort my local witch high on the raw weave told me to just prevent the heat death of the universe and wait you will eventually be everything :)

I've recently been playing more games with controller support on Steam and have had some issues getting them to work.

I have a DualShock 4 Controller (for a PS4) and it works fine for some proton games with controller support (Rainworld and BG3 for example) work fine out of the box. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Balatro both work with the default settings but only on Wayland (Hyprland). The games that work only on Wayland display Xbox button glyphs, leading me to believe that they are using Steam Input. I have in the past been able to play games with no controller support using Steam Input to emulate keyboard inputs on x11.

I am now trying to play LEGO Lord of the Rings which has Xbox Controller support but not Playstation Controller support and as such would require Steam Input. I would be happy to get it working on either x11 (i3) or preferably Wayland (Hyprland) but so far the closest I have gotten is being able to select my controller as an input device in the settings (by a button press being detected), this did however not allow me to perform any menu inputs and I was not able to reproduce it after restarting the game.

Overall my experience with my controller has gotten slightly worse over the past years (x11 only, I have barely used it when on Wayland) and I was wondering if anyone in this community had experience with non Xbox/Steam controllers in Steam that they would be willing to share.

A few of side notes:

  • The controller works fine for Steam in big picture mode and it is an official Play Station controller from Sony.
  • My Steam is installed via flatpak on the device using x11 and the device using Wayland.
  • Both devices are setup with EndeavourOS (arch based).
  • I run most of my non native games on Proton Experimental.

If I missed some important details that could help resolve my issues or explain why the controller behaves so different on the two devices I'm happy to answer questions :)
