Wtf is that scope?

Iran according to CNN:

"As revenge for one of leaders being killed, we will MK-ULTRA a 50+ year old American who keeps trying to smuggle people to war zones around the world, so that he will carry out a call of duty videogame style assassination attempt against Trump, involving hiding in the bushes of a golf course, and taking shots at Trump with a tacticool AK style assualt rifle from 500 yards away. That'll show them!"

Apparently this guy's strategy was to sit in a bush 500 meters away from Trump, and take potshots at him with an AK style assualt rifle with a crappy scope mounted on the top. You know, the kind of thing that only works in Call Of Duty videogames. I don't think he even got his first shots away.

The first shooter being a young hermit who no one has any information on, and proceeded to do the shooting wearing a gun YouTubers merchandise, is honestly also a weirdly amusing story.

Lmao Iranian agent. I guess the Russian interference angle is old now, and can't be used because the guy tried to give Ukraine soldiers. Why an Iranian agent would be pro US foreign policy will be left unexplained I guess.

Which is particularly ironic given that this Trump assassin guy was doing straight up terrorist activity, trying to smuggle ex Afghanistan military service members into Ukraine so that they could fight for Ukraine. The Ukrainian government rejected his offer, according to him.

[-] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 32 points 7 hours ago

From his twitter, this guy was trying to smuggle people to conflict or potential conflict zones across the world, Ukraine, Taiwan, Haiti, etc.

[-] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 28 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Taking potshots at someone with an assault rifle from half a kilometre away has to be one of the dumbest assassination attempt stories I've heard. There's a reason marksman rifles (such as the Soviet SVD/Durganov and the USA's SR-25/Mk-11 MoD 0) are used in the army and widely distributed amongst squads, and make appearances in every warzone. Hitting a target from 500m away with an assualt rife is very difficult, scope or no scope.

[-] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 30 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

His first few tweets are about trying to shuffle "NATO trained" Afghanistan National Army comparadors to conflict zones around the globe... Haiti, Taiwan, Ukraine, etc.

Also CNN confirming the name of the shooter.

I think it would be funnier if it's an AK instead of an AR for some reason. But they did actually say AK-47 when I was watching. I don't think there are many actual AK-47s left...

Ancient people weren't stupid though. Sure there would be those who thought the world was ending, but we have a lot of evidence that people attempted to understand these phenomena to the best of their abilities. For example, one of the leading theories on the purpose of Stonehenge was that it was an observatory designed to predict eclipses. As for me, I'd probably start worshiping the sun after the eclipse is finished so that it wouldn't go away again, then start building Stonehenge of course hahahaha.

I mean that's what happens when Harris is the vice president of the administration currently carrying out genocide in Gaza. Harris also repeated misinformation about Hamas members/ Palestinian men sexually assaulting Israelis during October 7 during the last presidential debate. How are Muslim voters supposed to trust someone like that? Someone that repeats racist and Islamophobic lies about them and their Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza. Someone actively part of a genocidal administration. Of course Muslims do not want to vote for Harris, and the reasons are very obvious.

It's not the debunked claims. As someone that did compete in sports in high school (albeit poorly), the story does check out. Sports organisations are underfunded and end up becoming circular/annulation like organisations in which athletes parents, loved ones, family, etc get involved and take up senior positions. I've seen it happen before.

Even outside of my personal experiences, the stories about athletes having one of their parents as a head coach are pretty infamous, or just famous, depending on how good the athlete is. I don't think anyone cares that Armand Duplantis' coach is his dad for example, he's the world record holder. However, you could argue that when this happens in more "subjective" sports, that there is a high potential for cheating, especially in organisational positions outside of coaching. There's a strong argument there.

All this is common knowledge amongst anyone that's competed in higher level sports. Also the end of this video is hilarious and dripping in irony.

spoiler the end of the videoThe end of the video is basically an advertisement for Conte's new doping regiment he primarily uses with boxers, while he very unconvincingly fakes repentance and being an anti doping advocate

Context. The commenters getting upvoted are defending this racist meme by local social media personality and racist idiot "The Kiffness".

The commenter that got 270 downvotes is the one calling out the racism.

Yes, many people in South Africa are still so racist that they do the fried chicken stereotype thing and insinuate that this is a tactic that black majority political parties use to "buy votes".

As someone that always got the creeps from this guy and got tired of seeing him all over social media promoting his nonsense with his whole "I'm a professor at Stanford" act, this article is cathartic and somewhat vindicating to read.

The long and the short of it is that while preaching self control, cutting out toxicity from your life, and creating peace, he proceeded to have affairs with five or six different women at the same time, with unprotected sex and potential spreading of STDs/STIs, along with cheating on the woman he was trying to have a child with, as well as ghosting pretty much everyone in his life constantly. He also made up a dubious backstory to hide the nepotism that allowed him to have a career at Stanford:

What does seem certain is that in his adolescence, Andrew became a regular consumer of talk therapy. In therapy, one learns to tell stories about one’s experience. A story one could tell is: I overcame immense odds to be where I am. Another is: The son of a Stanford professor, born at Stanford Hospital, grows up to be a Stanford professor.

For context with this paragraph, Huberman talks about the benefits of therapy all the time:

Andrew’s relationship to therapy remains intriguing. “We were at dinner once,” says Eve, “and he told me something personal, and I suggested he talk to his therapist. He laughed it off like that wasn’t ever going to happen, so I asked him if he lied to his therapist. He told me he did all the time.”

As a summary for how his podcast is filled with projection:

With repeated listening to the podcast, one discerns a man undergoing, in public, an effort to understand himself. There are hours of talking about addiction, trauma, dopamine, and fear. Narcissism comes up consistently. One can see attempts to understand and also places where those attempts swerve into self-indulgence.

Can't believe this song is almost 16 years old, the lyrics are just heartbreaking in modern context, especially this part:

And Mary and David smoke dung in the trenches
While Zion's behavior never gets mentioned
The writings, on your wall
And the blood on the cradle
And the ashes you wade through
Got you calling God's name in vain
Leaved the damned to damn it all

It's only gotten 100 times worse since the 2008 Gaza war

From the comments of the OP, warning immense racism

Which part are you referring to exactly? The world did view apartheid in that manner, no argument there. History says these men were on the wrong side. Although the military and political landscape is quite vast. Let's for argument's sake say what one person's experience was true, that he farmed in Namibia for the SADF in attempts to win hearts and minds, did his mandatory service automatically make him a racist? Surely not. As long as targets were military most of the time and in line with the greater goals of keeping communist states disorganized and supporting indigenous resistance, it would be quite hard to label military motives as racist.

:what-the-hell: :fidel-wut: :wut:

Also feel free to brigade that shithole subreddit as much as you want. I think I’m still banned for being anti NATO.
