I thought that he seemed surprisingly lucid, with it, put together. The overall content was gracious and grateful and praising of the country.

That said, I'm terrified about the future of the United States.

Well, Shit.

That can't be good.

Thank you for all the work you guys do! Glad to see server expenses are coming in under budget of the donations!

You don't have to if you don't want to. Subscribe to the one you like best, and help grow that one.

Personally, I find myself only subscribing to and browsing communities on the local instance. The idea of the Fediverse is cool and all, but it's just way too much information for one person to process.

The Great Digg Migration was way bigger and Digg was never the same after that. If Lemmy gets a couple more big waves from Reddit, it could mean the end for Reddit as it currently is.

Now all we have to do is wait for Reddit to screw up again for the next wave of new users!

Sometimes the question isn't about the answer but about the interaction.

I go on Reddit for one sub and one sub only. Other than that, I don't care about the site. Notifications are blocked and I've hidden my bookmarks from myself.

I gave up hope when I learned that the blue and green recycle bins in my area are really only there to make the consumer feel better about how much we waste as a society. A lot of the stuff we put in those bins still just winds up in a landfill.

Why or why not and what do you use it for?

Never too old to learn a musical instrument. You can pick up an acoustic guitar for cheap at a pawn shop.

Learning how to code is a good one that can be done either free or very cheaply and doesn't require a lot of computing power when starting out. All you need is a text editor and Google.

Having a rule that no one in the fediverse can do something is going to be unenforceable.

That's a really good point.

Would be a bit nice to be able to jazz up our spaces a little bit.

If you have any ideas for things you would like to see in the sublemmys banner at the top of the page, feel free to leave them in a comment in this thread.

Eventually, we will have our resident graphic designer tubbadu whip up something fun!

I'm loving the new changes on this instance after the last status update but I still seem to be having issues with leaving comments in communities on other instances. Is anyone else having this issue as well?

I have been seeing lots of questions asking for help and support about Lemmy and the site itself. Let's try to keep this a space for fun, serious, and thought provoking questions.

I will leave up the the threads that are already posted, but going forward, please direct all Lemmy support requests to the official support community or send an email to the admins at info@lemmy.world

The other change is a minor one (probably won't be strictly enforced) but let's try to make sure all questions end with a ?.

Everybody good?
