True, maybe they added something new? I just saw it on F-Droid, probably just because before they only supported Google Play (not even an APK download??) Which is pretty insane.

Collabora is better, I am sorry XD

~~Cool, thanks!~~

Do you know if they target different versions? Their F-Droid version is min SDK Android 5, which may indicate they target an outdated version for compatibility.

Wait these are just links, I mean releasing the APK. On Google Play you send them your selfbuilt APK, on F-Droid they build it.

Where does it get the DNS list if it is only in LAN?

[-] boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net 11 points 1 day ago

Chrome stole from Firefox too, just saying.

[-] boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 day ago

So... you have a not updated device, running some form of Debian, connected to your network, and all your devices rely on that for DNS???

OnlyOffice is Web only. Their desktop app runs on Electron (or Erge webview on Windows I guess... Linux needs a webview)

Ubuntu LTS is not newer than Debian.

CentOS Stream is also very old for some reason, they are CI/CD and get more updates, but it is just a step before RHEL.

Fedora really has no middleground which I find unperfect.

Also dont forget OpenSUSE, the free Enterprise distros, OpenEuler, Mandriva and more.

Hallo Leute!

I may need/benefit from using Slack for "work stuff".

Yeah, sucks totally, but network effect is a thing.

What is the best way to use it, on Android and on Linux, from people that use it often.

Do they have a webapp? How do they do their servers, is it centralized? Any wrappers for anything I should think of?

Using it in the work profile (GrapheneOS), getting the APK from APKpure is the option I would consider as last resort.

TIL about WOAM

Works On My Machine!

A huge pain, that is removed when using containers and ostree/image-based distros.

I watched Star Wars Episode VII I think and on the start scene, suddenly there was random talking in the subtitles.

Then I found out that was George Lucas, talking through the entire movie, transcribed as subtitles.

Was super fun and interesting, nice work!

Stuff you only see when getting Torrents XD

I want to compile all the GUI LineageOS apps and release their APKs.

To make them installable on other Android OS, I need to change the app ID. Otherwise Android would attempt an upgrade and fail because of mismatching keys.

For example the LineageOS Clock

There are many many files that refer to com.android.deskclock which I want to change to org.lineageos.deskclock.

Do I just need to change this line? And can I leave all the others normal?

I think I got build failures when changing more, and I wonder if I would need to change all the lines (using sed or something)

How to easily send a calendar appointment with Thunderbird?

#Thunderbird #calendar #outlook #gmail

Integrated suites like Outlook or GMail seem to do this easily. I dont see a reason why TB couldnt do this easily too, but I didnt find an option.

I get tons of mails from Outlook users containing a small .ics file with a single appointment.

This is often automated, often with Videocalls.

Thunderbird has a calendar. The auto-detection of these appointments works well, but I could not find how to SEND one.

What I tried:

  • Attach...
  • Insert...
  • on Calendar, right click on an appointment

Neither of these ways allowed me to attach a small .ics file, even though I think I can save an appointment as a .ics file.
