A few reasons, as a non-economist.

  1. People are terrified about being laid off. DOGE fucked shit up real bad. Companies lost their tax breaks and tariffs are forcing industries to cut corners.

  2. Foreign tourists help a lot. Well guess what? Tourists can now be arrested by ICE because fuck you!

  3. Immigration. Cost of products are going up because immigrants/children of immigrants are cutting down on work to avoid exposure. Can't do a second job if that second job is watched by ICE.

The dollar value dropped by nearly 10% in these few months.

Y'all, we are in for a rough ride.

I'm very excited to announce that I have recently joined Turso as a software engineer. For many in the field, including myself, getting to work on databases and solve unique challenges with such a talented team would be a dream job, but it is that much more special to me because of my unusual and unlikely circumstances. As difficult as it might be to believe, I am currently incarcerated and I landed this job from my cell in state prison. If you don’t know me, let me tell you more about how I got here.

MAGA complain about govt spending is off the walls.

MAGA create DOGE to cut a lot of "government waste".

MAGA waste taxpayer funds on parades and security theater.

MAGA has ICE arrest children at school, old people in court houses.

If you're hampering ICE right now, keep it up.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement could run out of money as soon as next month amid the Trump administration’s ramped-up efforts to deport unauthorized immigrants.

While there are more than three months left in the fiscal year, one estimate has found that the agency is already $1 billion over budget, according to Axios. Legislators in both parties have raised concerns about the speed at which the agency is spending its funds, which may prompt President Donald Trump to seek additional funds from other agencies to support his deportation efforts.

NEW YORK (AP) — The nonprofit legal aid group Lambda Legal, which advocates for LGBTQ+ rights, has raised $285 million at a time when attacks on the rights of gay, intersex and transgender people have again intensified

Lambda Legal CEO Kevin Jennings announced the results on Thursday, saying the group exceeded its original fundraising goal by $105 million.

That's the neat part! From April until yesterday, he was in immigration. He's actually been transferred as of yesterday!

Controversial internet personality Vitaly Zdorovetskiy has reportedly been transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in the Philippines.

Mr Pascal is a fine glass of water.

And we thirst.

I do volunteer for a Unitarian church and a Buddhist temple! Nailed it.

As protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts continue around the country, kids have begun creating their own protests online using the popular gaming site Roblox.

Videos of such protests have been shared to TikTok, where players can be seen holding signs with anti-ICE slogans behind what appear to be police barricades as sirens flash and whir in the background.

I actually don't know anything about this guy. But stumbled on him while reading about Filipino prisons and how inhumane they were.

Fun facts about Filipino prisons:

  • Some facilities are 400-500% over capacity. This means people sleep in shifts, on floors, in hallways.
  • Access to clean drinking water, sufficient food, and basic necessities like soap and toothpaste can be limited. Families often bring those in prison basic supplies and even give them money to rent a real bad.

I support a few religious organizations through volunteer work.

My rules for these organizations are simple:

  1. The religion takes a back seat to helping the community
  2. They're not preachy or trying to convert people
  3. They don't diddle little kids.

You'd think it'll be easy to meet that criteria.

Starbucks gave me a place to use the bathroom, free wifi, a judgement free place to mentally relax during 2010-2020.

Then they did a racist ass arrest, broke up unionizing, CEO tried to run for fucking president.

Stopped going there years ago and been watching it all burn.
