This basically the setup for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. It’s an anime where a guy has his soul drained by an awful company and when there’s a zombie apocalypse, his first reaction is to break into the corner shop and get some beer and have a day off. It’s a fantastic series about living life to the fullest, and the art is so great: it’s incredibly colorful, as opposed to most super-desaturated apocalypse media.

I started in the Northern Forest, and took my time building up some factories to deal with all those pure iron nodes, and I’m just about to finish tier four. Has anyone been blazing a trail through the tiers? I’m curious what tier most folks are on.

I keep all my genders and related information in KeePronounXC, which stores my pronouns in an encrypted format locally. It also lets me generate new, complex genders so I can use a unique one per relationship.

I spent $25 to adopt my cat from my local humane society and now he’s my best friend in the whole world.

The common wisdom about backups is the 3-2-1 backup strategy, which recommends:

  • 3 total copies of your data, including your original or “production” data
  • 2 different forms of media
  • 1 off-site copy

Proton Drive can be a decent off-site backup, but it would be a good idea to make a separate backup of your data on a different form of media like an external hard drive, just in case Proton Drive goes down, or the data there gets corrupted and you need to restore a known good version.

Take some time to appreciate the amazing writing and voice work in Warframe by taking a nice fifteen-minute bath in Albrecht Entrati’s monologue

If there are dozens of thirsty lesbians using Arch Linux, then I am one of them.

If there is one thirsty lesbian using Arch Linux, it’s me.

If there are no thirsty lesbians using Arch Linux, then I am no longer on Earth.

If the world is against thirsty lesbians using Arch Linux, then I am against the world.

I started a server with some friends and I pretty quickly realized I’d prefer to have my own spaghetti than work on someone else’s, so I ran off. Do you prefer working closely with people or do you have more fun making factories in far-off lands?

It almost sounds like I’m defeating the purpose of multiplayer, but there’s a whole map we can build on! And I’m sure my friends appreciate when I send them truckloads of plastic and rubber from the coast while they were working on space elevator stuff in the fields.

I made a little web app that uses the AniList API to fetch the birthdays of your favorite characters. No MyAnimeList support.

I recently heard the announcement of a remake for this anime, which made me go watch the original. The art isn't phenomenal, but it has such comfortable, cozy vibes.. Here's the description from AniList:

Genius bartender, Sasakura Ryuu makes the most incredible cocktails anyone has ever tasted. Seeking his "Glass of God", individuals from all different walks of life visit his bar. With both a compassionate ear and a godly drink, Ryuu helps people with their problems.

There are lots of really cool voting systems that don’t have the same weaknesses that first-past-the-post does. Check out https://ncase.me/ballot/ if you want a fun interactive explanation of several.

Favorite punch? (lemmy.world)

I’ve been reading David Wondrich’s Punch and I’m in love with the whole idea of punches. Getting a bunch of people together around a big bowl of something tasty and drinking the night away sounds so fun. It also sounds nice to be able to prepare a great drink for everyone without having to spend too much of my time away from my guests shaking up individual drinks.

I’ve mixed up a few batches of Philadelphia Fish House Punch and it’s now one of my favorite drinks. Does anyone here have a favorite punch recipe?

P.S. If you haven’t read Punch or Imbibe!, I wholeheartedly recommend them. David Wondrich is a really fun writer and cocktail history is a really interesting subject (to me, at least).

Does anyone else think that Elixir could be really well-suited to writing fediverse applications? I'm really tempted to try my hand at writing an alternative Lemmy backend. If anyone is feeling the same way, I'd be more than happy to host a project on my GitHub and give y'all access and we can see what we can do.
