Ditto on not engaging with Marvel stuff in a while. I know a decent amount, largely from games and shows, but I'm mostly a DC bitch. Though there's a few series I'm fond of, e.g. Moon Knight & X-Men, so it's cool to see MK and Magik in game. Can't say I've tried Jeff the Shark, he's an annoying little fucker to play against though.

Ooh, I didn't realize there were ini tweaks out there already. I'll have to go try and check them out. I've got a 4060 laptop which is theoretically not too bad, but still struggles to run anything new.

Yeah, that is true. Still, primates at least had a pretty good base from which to work towards evolving to use tools - hands, relatively high intelligence, and decent lifespans. I don't even know how you'd go about giving a dolphin or ravens grippers. Octopi and rats have a decent base to work with in terms of grabbing things, but they would need to evolve to extend their lifetimes several times over before they could reasonably maintain a civilization.

Tbh as someone else said, it's most likely some other primate species would take over in the meantime since they're much closer.

I'm wary about the monetization so far. That's my biggest concern. That and the performance issues. Otherwise, it seems pretty decent, though. Good cast of characters, too.

Also, why is Moon Knight an exclusively ranged character? Whyyyy? That's like if you put Batman in a game and made an entire kit for him based on the grapple gun and batarangs.

Had some 'moderate socialist' sort on BlueSky link me this article a while back. I was not impressed.

The gist of this article, as I understand it, is that people should stop waiting for parties to start catering to them politically and instead start getting personally involved in their political parties. Which is a load of horseshit. There are an abundance of meaningful forms of political action, and even ignoring the fact that joining the Democratic Party has not yet proven to be one of them, there are always going to be a large amount of people who are unable to or simply do not want to waste years of their lives reforming the Democratic Party from within, and for those people, voting will simply be comparing the negatives and positives of groups that they are not involved with.

In a way it's a similar kind of idealism to the Twitter leftists who believe all leftists should have read entire libraries of communist literature. The primary difference is that, while unrealistic, it would be an unequivocally good thing for more people to read more communist literature. "Everybody should simply join the Democratic Party" is not only an unrealistic mission statement, but an ideologically flaccid one.

Dolphins do sex for pleasure and find "toys" to masturbate with

I, uh. Think there's a word for what they do to their "toys", and it isn't masturbation.

Eh, I tried watching the first three seasons a few years back and it never caught me. I respect that it seems to have a lot of reverence for the source material, but I just don't enjoy the humor.

To be fair, I feel like ravens would probably need a lot less wood than humans do, so branches & young trees would likely suffice.

On the one hand, I'm glad that Bashir / Garak is finally canon, but on the other hand, I wish it were canonized in a piece of media that wasn't Lower Decks.

True, no opposable thumbs, though. Perhaps they could develop some kind of written language, but I don't think it'd be nearly as easy as it is for us and I doubt they'd be able to do much with complex tools.

Picked up a few issues of the Poison Ivy run at the bargain bin at my comic shop and it's rapidly becoming one of my favorite series. I was initially wary about it due to Poison Ivy's ecofascist tendencies, but this series addresses that magnificently (even having her have an internal monologue about how blaming all of humanity for the actions of the rich and powerful was lazy, citing indigenous people living harmoniously with nature), and generally feels like it was written by someone who's genuinely progressive. Also, it has an entire issue that's nothing but lesbian fanservice.

It's real sad to me how all the other intelligent lifeforms on this planet are biologically limited in one way or another. Rats? Live a few years. Octopi? Live a few years. Dolphins? The fuck they gonna do with those flippers? Ravens? Ditto, but wings. They can't even masturbate. Humans hit the evolutionary jackpot.
