Humans are social creatures. Many animals get depressed too when they don't have another of its kind to live around.
Which is not really a horrible realization, we know earth has a shelf life, the question is will we be able to solve space colonization to ensure the survival of our species?
I'm sorry but not going to trust an author who has a very real financial incentive to sell a hypothesis. There are indeed numerous studies that do summarize the negative impacts of social media and smartphones on mental health, and it's also extremely true that the increase in mental health diagnosis can also, at least partially, be attributed to an increase in mental health awareness. My ADHD existed well before I got my hands on tech.

Quite unrelated but can anyone explain why/how John Fetterman was a really huge topic a few years ago? I was just being your average redditor a few years ago and then BAM many many John Fetterman posts. I was like who tf is this guy? and got called a russian bot and shit because I pointed out how he was the hottest topic on reddit overnight for some reason
