This is exactly what I’m afraid of.
It really is. It’s already bordering on intolerable. By 2050, I assume only the wealthy will have the luxury of not dying from a heat stroke.

I got this wonderful little monster from a shelter 6 years ago.
She was a crazy, unruly spazz as a puppy. She pooped inside one of my shoes once. Destroyed a recliner (it was barely recognizable as a chair when she finished).
But I can honestly say that she’s the best damned dog I’ve ever had. When I tell her “I love you,” she barks three times, every time.
Anyway, that’s it. That’s the post.

So rather than disregard the entire thread and move on, everyone just opts to complain about Apple, on an Apple community, rather than offer any advice.

I’m not really sure why this doesn’t appear to have a settings toggle, but every time an image is sent in iMessage, some location is sent, whether it’s yours or location data from the image itself.
I’m assuming it’s the original location of the photo taken, but I’m not sure. I tested it by sending an image to myself (which was surprisingly difficult in iOS 17), and there was no data attached, but it was an image downloaded from Imgur.
It’s almost as if the entire point of Threads was to use the Twitter hate to harvest more personal data with zero interest in creating an actual longstanding platform. 🤔
I don’t, and I feel super out of place now after reading the comments.

Most likely the security fix that was issued recently for 16, which explains the small size.
So far, the only fix I’ve noticed has been the accessibility option to use personal voice (the keyboard initially covered the prompt, now it’s back to normal).

It’s been so awesome watching this whole thing come together (and so quickly). Thanks for all the hard work that’s been put into this project, and for creating such a great app!

Well said, and same.
For me, being on the fediverse is an escape from big social. That’s the whole reason I’m here. Conversations are more organic, less restrictive, and generally better. Plus, it has an awesome DIY feel to it.
I don’t want to lose that to Meta’s insatiable hunger for data.
I’m gonna park my car here for this.

Because it’s gotten so much stronger, I actually smoke less to get to that “sweet spot,” which saves me money.
Won’t catch me complaining.
