My experience is it’s really a lot of work and with the prevalence of letsencrypt, there is not a lot of automated setups for this use case (at least that I have been able to find). It is kind of a pain in the ass to run your own CA, especially if you plan to not use wildcard and to rotate certs often. If you use tailscale, they offer https certs with a subdomain given to you:

[server-name].[tailnet-name].ts.net

That’s honestly what I’m moving towards.

Tell that to Google with Google Docs, Microsoft with Office365, etc. The web applications are starting to become a thing in a big way.

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Preview channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > System Update Channel.

General

  • Added support for Steam Deck OLED
  • Removed spurious splash screen during reboot and shutdown

There’s so much to unpack. Good thing there’s YouTube video explaining it all.

I would be really interested in reading an article about this, but have no desire to watch a video on this.

Things nearest the center would move towards the center at an accelerated rate. So observation from the perspective of an object falling in the black hole could be everything is expanding? Since everything is getting compressed as it goes toward the center. I’m not an expert on anything but it seems like an intriguing concept.

I think this is a great topic. I think it comes down to incentives. Artists going to the trouble of writing music, practicing, recording, editing and publishing probably expect to make some money. Individual artists who have low overhead and are doing it for the love of it probably have a better experience on Youtube as that’s where the audience is?

Just speculating but I think the social distancing and mask wearing during covid is what made that strain of influenza go extinct.

Time to break out the Guy Fawkes masks?

They’re probably doing that for first batch bug fixes.

What if women could move their breasts like arms and could swim like that? That would be the real breaststroke

I block every community that bot posts in. I don’t want to see endless posts with zero discussion or engagement from anyone. It’s just noise to me.

With all of the language models (ChatGPT, LLaMa, Bard, etc.) popping up, I wanted to rewatch Voyager due to the character development of the doctor and Seven to reawaken my imagination.

I found first season available (with ads) but can’t stream other seasons except on something called Paramount+. I read through the fine print and won’t ever be subscribing to that abusive service. Anyone know where else I might be able to stream the show? Looks like about $80-90 to buy the complete series… ugh

I am interested in possibly self hosting a Nextcloud instance. Couple of questions, if I self host a lemmy or pixelfed instance can it source photos or videos from my theoretical Nextcloud instance?

Another question is can I have it only sync while on the WiFi at home instead of over cell? Any way to enable access via wire guard while out and about but then only synch when at home?
