You care about privacy? Hostile!

I get that! I'm also aiming for moderation, but realised that I needed a period of abstinence - and no defined end date - to get there. I have done it in the past, but always with a determined deadline. Result being that I just got back into old habits because I was aiming more for the deadline and less for the result and long-term vision.

I do miss a good glass of wine or tasty beer with dinner in a restaurant now, but I can only allow myself to do that once I have a clear handle on my alcohol consumption.

It's not easy and it never will be! Experienced that with smoking as well. But it's good to have at least someone to help and be there. That's a good one to get you started and stay motivated. Also small things for yourself can be helpful. For me, it's trying and ranking as much alcohol free beers as possible. Being from Belgium, I love(d) me some special beers. Now that I'm not drinking, it's fun to explore this "new" world and find the best one!

Things suck, especially kicking addictions and habits, but over time the sucking gets manageable.

If fans even get the chance to enter the country at all...

This feels like a new low, tbh

Bonus is now you can choose whatever you want for lunch!

Yeah, my parents wouldn't know what's AI and what isn't. They're 50+. Not really a surprise, tbh. There's a lot of people whose knowledge of tech is not there at all, sadly. But I try to explain it to them as much as possible, tho!

[–] pet1t@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Yeah I don't know about the ethics of that...

As I'm walking to work (instead of cycling, which I normally do, in an effort to slow down the mind somewhat) I was thinking of what other things I could do to try and break the routine of a workday. What are other people doing?

Basically as the title says, but some context: I'd like to play PSP games on my switch, for old time's sake. I do have a Miyoo Mini Plus, but that's not powerful enough for those games. Since I have a Switch as well, I'd love to be able to use this instead of spending money on another device. I've tried looking it up already, but it was a bit of information overload to begin with (too much to process while already having a lot going on and working 7/7 the last few weeks). That's why I ask here to get a few pointers and help from the community before I dive further into the online rabbit hole. My nostalgic desire to replay Chains of Olympus and Midnight Club 3 thanks you in advance!

tl;dr: can I emulate PSP games on my Nintendo Switch without modding it?

How's your Bandcamp Friday? What did you get today?

I used to like Reddit, but I've realized that people are just giving their input/knowledge away so that Reddit can sell it. It is sad to lose Reddit as a helpful resource, but seriously, people should stop contributing to it.

After years of only owning a tapedeck, I finally bought myself a walkman. Walking to work just got a lot better!

What the title says, basically. On reddit there's r/cassetteculture but for the moment I can't find anything like that on lemmy. Would be nice to have a community like this here! If there isn't one, should I create it? I don't have that much experience with moderating or hosting communities, so I'm not sure about it at the moment...

Hi! I have this beautiful old frame (the white one) that I want to rebuild to a city/pub bike, but will need to research a few things first (tire clearance, bottom bracket etc.) I'd need the brand for that, but can't find anything. Anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: I think I've found it! My guess it's this Diamond from 1991. Now to find the specs somewhere!
