Glad you enjoyed it! You’re right that it’s all about the base with this soap.
I think you’d really enjoy Outback from them.

December 24th, 2025: BVWSC - Christmas Eve at the Pub

For today's delayed meeting of BVWSC we're shaving with Night at the Pub from Woolly Wash Soapery -- an artisan out of Australia. Over the summer I helped organize a group buy from this artisan after they happened to wander into a weekly Deals/New Products thread on Reddit. It was a lot of work but totally worth it, I very much enjoy the few tubs I ended up with.
This soap in particular is perfect for this time of year: spicy, a little sweet, and super slick. It's a really nice sheep tallow base that gives me a great shave. The scent reminds me of the Pfeffernüsse cookies my wife and I make every holiday season. Spicy and delicious.
Have a nice Christmas Eve!
I’ve wondered: do you ever use the barber’s notch on a razor like this when shaving yourself?
Or does it shave pretty much like a square point?
Yes, I do this to enhance longevity!
Storage limitations are really just creativity opportunities!
(I say with 7 tubs of soap sitting on my desk with no permanent home...)
I'm lucky if I can make it an entire month without buying more soap!

Fantastic shave. These GEM DE blades work really nicely, very smooth and comfortable.
I'm glad to hear it finally made it!
December 22nd, 2025: Mike's Monday

My first shave with this razor went well. This is also my first time with a round point straight razor. I found it significantly easier to control the toe and get to some of the more difficult nooks on my jawline. Overall, I very much enjoyed this razor and look forward to developing more skill with it.

Nice shave. I'm not sure I love Earth of Mankind, but it made an easy and slick lather.
I feel like there might be enough overlap between this scent and Dirtyver to justify moving it along. We'll see...
Glad to hear you’re getting better, pneumonia is no joke!
Baking Pfeffernüsse is one of my favorite holiday traditions. They’re so good!
And I’m glad you enjoyed the soap, it’s a really great base!
