i use 30g and 5/16 inch. and i do subcutaneous injections abt three inches diagonally down from my bellybutton. it never hurts and i dont notice soreness other than verrry minor for 1 day max. with 30g it just takes a long time to draw the solution

Decided to check mine and apparently I got 23g 1" needles. Still doesn't hurt. Squeemish about needle being in skin more than anything, so I don't think size or length would make that big of a difference (except smaller gauge being harder to inject and therefore need to be in my skin longer, and time might be the primary factor that play into me feeling squeemish.

yeah ur right. this study and this study show there’s no significant difference in pain for subcutaneous injections with 30G, 27G, 26G, 23G, and 21G needles. ig they’re all small enough that they do abt the same damage. i have zero needle fright but chose 30G bc it reduces the size of the hole i make in my vial septum. maybe the best advice to ppl with discomfort or needle fright is to use 21G

@Tomboymoder@hexbear.net walrusdragon has a good point here and this might be more helpful with ur injection setup

what I am doing is working tbh

I'm doing IM as well (hence the length), so curious how much or little of a difference that makes.

Kinda surprised though. I just figured it was my usual lack of understanding of pain thing (its pretty rare I'd describe something as painful). I certainly wouldn't recommend taking my recommendations on pain seriously.

IM causes soreness more than SC. also this study shows you can achieve the same E2 levels on a lower dose of SC compared to IM

Good to know. Thanks for the info.
