Damn. They could be hitting the Kremlin?

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 19 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Not a military target, and definitely not an intelligence target.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 12 points 7 months ago

No, I know. I just know that Russia doesn't respect rules of engagement, so the thought has probably occurred to some of them.

[–] Badeendje@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It isn't? AFAIK the whole decision making apparatus of the military and intelligence services are all there, neatly tucked between civilian stuff like museum etc..

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

The net effect of a strike like that would not destroy Russian intelligence, only increase it.

I'd guess the Kremlin has an air defense system and either the drone or the projectile would be shot down before it could do damage

And even if not, that seems just inflammatory and way more easily harnessed for huge propaganda wins for Putin & co, as opposed to suffocating like hitting refineries, airfields or other similarly painful and impactful but also further-from-the-everyday-people’s-minds-and-eyes targets.

if putin would be in the kremlin during the attack, he wouldn't be able to use it for propaganda ☠ but I doubt he's in there often. probably hiding most of the time, then do a few surprise appearances so he can't get ambushed.

Didn’t they hit a window in some FSB/war ministry building in Moscow a year or so ago?

I seem to recall that attack was not claimed by Ukraine.
