badposting
badposting is a comm where you post badly
This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.
Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?
Rules:
- Do not post good posts.
- Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
- Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
- This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
- This rule intentionally left blank.
- If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.
Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

Being honest for a second, I have no idea whether Dessa was pulling our legs with that post, but I chose to interpret it as sincere. But if that post was sincere, it's like... How long has she been thinking that news about Taiwan was actually about South Korea? Has she ever said ROC when she meant ROK and in so doing misinformed people? Why did she never think to just google it? I mean, if I made a mistake like thinking ROC stood for "Republic of Corea", my face would just instantly go red as the Soviet flag once my mistake was pointed out to me, in fact I'd probably be on the floor, kicking with my face buried in hands, wailing with embarrassment.
Really, I don't like to make fun of people for not knowing what they don't know, because that sort of mistake is something we all experience, for instance I straight-up didn't realize the "Confederate States of America" was the same thing as "the South" until I was like 14, but... Shyeesh, though. If Dessa wasn't pulling our legs I hope she isn't too embarrassed.
I constantly do that with ROC and ROK. I swear I've seen Korea spelled with a C in some circumstances too. I'm never confused when I'm reading these in context (It's usually obvious what nations are involved from context anyway), but when it comes time for me to USE the acronyms I get confused.
Still, ROK vs DPRK. I feel like DPROK is better. Say it "Deeprock" or something unless deeprock already means something.
Glad to.inspire people anyway, even if it was from a fuckup
Which Soviet state was DESSA?
@Dessa@hexbear.net
i mean maybe they speak another language primarily, its spelt "corea" in alot of languages, spanish for example
It used to be spelled with a C in English as well — in fact there's a conspiracy theory that the switch to spelling Korea with a K was Japan's fault, such that Japan would appear before Korea in alphabetic country lists.
