My next phone (probably in another two years) will likely be running HarmonyOS. My next PC (even farther off) is also likely to be running HarmonyOS.

I did see some work arounds for banking apps with harmony OS. I kight have another look.

There are barriers, I dont want AI or the crazy HDR processing but I do want a decrnt camera. I'd love a phone with hardware kill switches for loads of features.

Sorry I was mixed up, I dont trust Huawei one bit. I think they make great tech but I dont want them in my life.

I trust Huawei a fuckton more than I'd trust Google or Apple or Microsoft or ...

And by the time I'm in the market for another phone/PC it won't be just Huawei making HarmonyOS phones/PCs.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure about that, they are all the same one is just state sponsored.

HarmonyOS is their property, its not like they couldnt get nefarious shit into it

...

I don't even know where to begin to unpack this.

I guess I'll start with the "nefarious shit". Nefarious shit like taking periodic snapshots of your screen (against your will) to feed an AI? That kind of nefarious shit?

Yeah...Im not defending microsoft here I dont use a single product of theirs outside work.

Im saying they are the same, with less oversights, tramsparency and more state complicity(or at least visibly so)

It's adorable that you think the USA has "oversight" over its megacorporations.

I didnt say it was laudable oversight but it is more than what we see of China.

The word "we" is doing heavy lifting there.
