Like all the vaccines do far, they will likely reduce your risk of catching it and reduce your symptoms and risk of hospitalisation or death. None have eliminated the chance to catch it or get symptoms.
That's not to say they don't work. That's how they work. They make your immune system better at dealing with them. Each new variant and time increases your risk again.
You'll come in contact with it probably. The vaccines help the immune system catch it earlier before its taken hold. That's why covid is such a hard disease to fight naturally, by the time your immune system sees it it has to ramp up to 1000 to fight it off, and then the worst symptoms are what your immune system is causing. (Fever is just your body trying to make it inhospitable to the virus after all).
Vaccines are an early detector, you already have antibodies so it can say whoa whoa whoa I know what you are, gonna get you out now before you take hold. Some people will have it gone before symptoms start. Others will have some symptoms but a milder version.
I personally had the vaccines and got it and it felt like the worst flu I'd ever had, and the main symptoms lasted about 3 weeks.
If it's very effective for this strain, it might be like 90% effective at not getting it. But there are more strains that will have less effect. As others are saying, symptoms should be more mild if you do get it.
