i like how 4 decades ago, the US was financing and materially supporting reactionary reactionary islamofascists as reliable, eternal allies against a secular, communist state-building project.... and now the same hooting bozos that would have loved that whole operation insist the two fundamentally opposed forces are now, self-evidently a unified front requiring no explanation.
this somehow bothers me even more than when people conflate the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1922-1991) with the Russian Federation (2025).
oh they never stopped, they just do it against non-communist governments now too. look who assad has been replaced with. a former al qaeda guy conveniently willing to cede territory to israel and let israel use syrian airspace to attack iran.
