Like, I'm a history person right. I haven't watched the movie but I think the person it's based on was a slave trader whereas the movie version is anti slavery. It might be like making a movie about Queen Ginga and pretending she was anti slavery, which is just crazy. But media's not supposed to do my job, which is to teach history to people. So I'm not one of those who get really pissed off at creative liberties, shall we say. Even as I am concerned that a smart right winger can spin a narrative about whitewashing out of stuff like this.
