not the own you'd think it is given the frequency it's ignored
in TNG at least it's not ignored that often and I think it's still telling that it's still this thing called The Prime Directive which guides them and each time they don't follow it it's a whole Thing and Picard is sent to a tribunal or smth
maybe not? I would think the fact that the dialectic over intervention/interference is so thoroughly explored means it can't be inherently expansionist but idk I essentially skipped TOS
