His aunt was married to Pelosi's brother in law, so I think that technically makes them second cousins twice removed.

What's more interesting though is Newsom used to be married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was Trump's fundraising chief, was Don Jr's fiancee, and is about to be the US ambassador to Greece. All these people know one another and we're forced to live as spectators to their little club.

Guilfoyle breaking up with Newsom to get with Don Jr illustrates how little of a difference there is between the dems and republicans better than any piece of theory could.

Also, from his current wife's wikipedia page:

A screenshot of the wikipedia article about Jennifer Siebel Newsom that emphasizes how she was designated the "first partner" of California

Rejecting the label "first lady" to become the "first partner" of a deeply queerphobic politician is performative progressivism at its finest.

"Cousin [times] removed" is when there's a generational mismatch. Your first cousin's children are your first cousins once removed. There isn't really a word for in-laws of in-laws, although you may know the latter better than your second cousins (I happen to do this).

ah, not quite, turns out he's her brother-in-law's nephew. close enough.

Lol I looked it up just before you replied, that was a very believable fib.
