A horror story for Americans:
You, a very divorced failing small business tyrant, find out you actually had basically unlimited free real estate this whole time. And you didn't capitalise on it.
What? Are you going to ignore this... manifestation of destiny? This strange and empty land? This "terra nullius"? Why wouldn't you go further? Should Alexander stop right before his troops were tired and homesick? Should Napoleon stop right before Russia in autumn? Should Paul Bunyan stop right before cutting down an ancient and sacred grove inhabited by Ents?
I did think, as soon as he found the pile of stools the first time he stepped through the wall, was that he should have been like: "hell yeah, free stools!" And he should have tried to sell them. And he should have only gone inside the backrooms to get free furniture to sell, and should have just ignored everything else about them. And also tried to rent them out, having zero interest of any kind as to why they were there. He could have called the police on the "entities" and claimed all the backrooms for himself.
This is part of the premise of the videos on Youtube on which the movie is based. You have this ridiculous operation tearing a hole through reality and one of the main given motives is literally using the alternate dimension as a rented storage space.
