The obamalisk contains a library full of all of the books Barack and Michelle have had written for them, as well as a few of those of their advisors. You cannot check out the books though, only read them in the "library".

That part in itself is such a massive insight into Obama and a wonderful microcosm of the world he sought to create.

It's "look on my works* ye Mighty, and despair" not "check out my works and take them home"
