“Except for Arthur and Douglas MacArthur ... they're the only father and son pair to receive our nation's highest military award for courage above and beyond the call of duty. Now, as I see my two beautiful sons sitting there, I think I'm going to give one to myself, one to them, and we'll have a threesome,” he joked.

He sees a father and son pair received national military honors and his first thought is, how can I make this about myself?

On 9/11 he boasted that he now owned the tallest building in lower Manhattan. And it wasn't even something he'd built himself, he'd just purchased it.

Wow, even that was a lie.

https://www.politifact.com/article/2019/sep/11/fact-checking-mixed-bag-accusations-trump-and-911/

"40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest — and then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest. And now it’s the tallest," Trump said.

In actuality, once the Twin Towers were decimated, the 71-story Trump Building at 40 Wall Street was the second-tallest building still standing in Lower Manhattan, according to the Washington Post. It was 25 feet shorter than the building at 70 Pine Street. That’s not to say that 40 Wall Street has never been the tallest in Lower Manhattan: It was for two years in the 1930s, before Trump owned it.

Currently, Trump’s building on 40 Wall Street is the 32nd-tallest building either erected or under development in New York City.

Used to work in the area, and saw 40 Wall Street at least once a day.

The ground floor shop was empty for years. Remember, this is one of the most crowded areas in the most crowded city in the USA. During the day, there wasn't a shop that didn't have a line.

I don't know who he annoyed, or what legal nonsense was going on, but that place had at least 50,000 people walking by it every day.

That's how it be

That seems like he thought a threesome is the three-person equivalent of a pair. I don't know if "trio" would have been more correct but it definitely would have been less weird.

He's a golfer. Aren't golf teams threesome and foursomes?

[–] reptar@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago
