The main question I have here is: "Did she do it to "prove" that vaccines were deadly, or was the vaccine excuse just handy after she decided she didn't want to be a mom anymore?"
And this is the "pro-life" movement in America. HA.
Maybe she was just generally negligent and being anti-vax was just in the same bucket as a whole bunch of other shitty negligent behaviors?
Probably said it in a panic because she thought it was believable...
Plausible.
My parents got the COVID vaccine and died!
Oh no, did they have a massive allergic reaction?
No, they were driving home from getting their shot and a drunk driver blew a red light and t-boned their car.
I think its extraordinarily likely that this person has some very serious unmanaged mental health issues.
That's not an excuse, she's still a murderer, just saying its unlikely that a person of full mental faculty murdered there own children to prove a point about protecting ones children from potential harm.
I don't think she did it to prove a point, I think she used what she'd done to forward "the cause"
This is one of those cases where I don't give a fuck about mental health. You kill a kid, you deserve to die. I don't care what the underlying issue is.
Can we just make mental health issues more easily cared for? So maybe the next person gets some post partum screening, supports, and doesn't kill their kid?
Oh absolutely....but that doesn't change that someone hurt a child. That should be zero tolerance.
But it is tolerated. It's tolerated because there's no prevention.
Hell in the south I think it's downright encouraged...
Well, maybe if you took a moment to try to understand the motivations of this person you could acknowledge that there's a chance that this could have been avoided if the mother had better mental health support.
As I said in my first comment, mental health isn't an excuse and she's still a murderer. She needs to face justice for that.
However, understanding the circumstances that led to this provide an opportunity to avoid similar things happening in future.
There is NO motivation that explains hurting a child. I'm all for the death penalty for anyone hurting a child, period, no exceptions, no appeals.
pro-life BEFORE you come out. Once you come out, no one gives a fuck about you.
I do wonder if it is possible it was something else, like SIDS or what have you. It does seem suspicious, but, either way - it's tragic as hell.
Doubt it was SIDS, it's right there in the name: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Apparently, it pretty much only affects infants under a year old, with 90% of cases occurring before 6 months. It would be almost unheard of if it affected both of her 18-month-old toddlers at the exact same time. Very sad, I'm glad they're investigating this...
Not almost unheard of. Unheard of. Both experiencing it at the exact same time does not happen.
SIDS is often an excuse for infant murder.
Possible, but not likely.
I believe that SIDS has been disproven and it's found that children are suffocating because they get themselves into positions where they cannot breathe properly.
Sorry this just isn't true.
SIDS is more of a category of "unexplained infant death", so yes: some of these infants may have blocked their own airways.
However, that's not true of all cases. There's complex neuro-stuff going on that we don't understand and is difficult to research.
We reduce the risk of SIDS by ensuring that kids are less likely to block their airways with blankets and so on, because those are the things we can practically do. We can't fiddle with the neuro-stuff.
If your child dies of SIDS, that does not mean you suffocated them or let them suffocate themselves.
There's a lot of research about this.
Either for money or attention is my guess.
IMO, either way she deserves going throug a meat grinder… feet first with a hydration break at the knees and another one at the hip
