From what I’ve gleaned online so far (and I am not claiming this is a holistic overview, just the broadest scope that I’ve been able to gather up to this point):
Frankly, I’m adopting a “wait and see” approach - there’s clearly a lot more going on behind the scenes than laypersons are aware of.
The media circus around this seems, to me, to be just that: the media latching onto a (high-level) personnel change and sensationalizing it without getting the entire story and all the details. And I doubt all the details are going to be revealed quickly, since, you know, some of the details are strategic in nature, and Ukraine is still actively fighting a war, and they don’t want to just broadcast to Russia (amongst others) about where exactly their logistics issues and bottlenecks and failures are.
Yeah, we don't know how the internal power inside the Ukrainian government has flowed, we also don't know how the future strategies of Ukraine will play out.
Fedorov seems to have been a great defense minister during the latest phase of the war, but if the Ukrainian government now sees the need to shift strategies for a new phase of the war, it might require a new leader.
