But Al Franken made a butt joke!
I believe he joked/actually posed for a photo groping a woman while she was asleep actually. You don't have to lower your standards just because the other side has none.
No he didn't, that photo was a joke, and he wasn't touching her at all. It was a MAGA smear campaign because there was a lot of talk about Franken running for president, and they were afraid of him, on BOTH sides.
So Schmuck Schumer turned on him, and joined the MAGA smear job to clear the decks for his Senate partner Kirsten Gillibrand to run. He ruined a good mans life and career for a stupid campaign that flamed out in a few weeks. Another way that Schmuck has deliberately hurt Democrats. Everything he does hurts Dems, and helps MAGA. Literally EVERYTHING. He should be investigated, he's a secret MAGA.

Dude... I've seen the photo. It wasn't ok. The only context that could possibly help is if the woman in the photo came out and said "I was aware of the joke prior to the photo and consented to it". Even then I would find it to be really distasteful. I'm not saying he should be in a cell, I'm saying it was a weird and gross thing to do and I'm glad he stepped down, even if he was good in other ways.
I'm confused. You're getting a lot of downvotes. I can't open the linked article, so I'm not sure if I'm missing context that you're also missing or what...
Your statement is exactly how I feel about the photo too.
He hover handed a plate carrier. He could have full on grabbed the thing and it still wouldn't count as groping her chest.
.... So you think it's not problematic that he, a person with power and influence, indicated it would be funny to sexually assault a sleeping woman? It's only wrong if he actually does it? Go ask a few women in your life how they feel about it.
Do I think a staged photo indicates sexual assault? No, I'm not a moron. I do however remember that he immediately asked for a congressional investigation and as soon as he did she spoke up saying that wasn't necessary and she wanted to put it behind her. It was a staged photo for a comedy tour for troops. It wasn't sexual assault. People on the plane said she consented to the photo and wasn't asleep. It wasn't sexual assault. It was a staged photo. And the joke is she was wearing a fucking plate carrier so he wasn't even fake groping her chest, he was fake grabbing her armor. Do you get equally upset about depictions of sexual assault in media? Do you believe those depictions tacitly condone sexual assault? Are you a fuckin moron?
Is the question about it being problematic? Or is the question that it warranted losing one of our best voices on the left?
Had you considered asking the woman that was sleeping? Why don't you go ahead and look up what she thought about the whole thing.
It's like y'all are addicted to losing, I swear to god. Some sort of self-flaggelation or some shit. I wish you'd leave the rest of us out of it though.
