real question: why even vote against it? why not just vote for it, since it's symbolic anyway. then sit back and dare the world to call us holdings or isntrael 'colonies'. If it is symbolic, and seeing how voting against ends up making the US and isntrael look bad, is there like a concrete reason to vote no?

IIRC the reason that the US and their puppets give is that it would be giving Russia and/or China a PR win, just like the resolution against nazism that gets blocked every year.

It is if you're not a Nazi. The problem is that the West is run by Nazis and as such pathologically incapable of realizing how this looks to the rest of the world.
