Do people like this go driving, see a billboard ad for something like an RV dealer and go “I’m not interested in buying an RV! WHY IS THIS BEING SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT!?”

Yeah I have a visceral reaction to seeing ads. I’ve accidentally conditioned my kids to boo at ads on TV like a bad DARE assembly where the kids are supposed to make noise when drugs are on screen

I've gotten so good at avoiding ads that whenever I'm somewhere random when an ad is on I literally can't believe some people can stand that shit at all. Related: my dad loved ads and would leave the TV blasting at full volume during them, it drive me crazy. So maybe my dad was responsible in a way for my intense hatred of advertising.
