Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I’m not saying roll over and accept fascism, and if it does come to civil war so be it, but civil war is not anything I am rushing to.
I get wanting to fight back. I’m mad as hell. I want nothing more than most politicians (on both sides) and billionaires to be stripped of all their wealth and power, and many of them to never see the outside of a cell. I just want to avoid being a statistic, or living with the memories of dead loved ones and bombed out neighborhoods.
Whose waging the class war have spent good money to turn American basement dwellers into the real men they always dreamed they would be. and slap some 'police' regalia on your vest and now you are LEO. There are not 10's of millions of Trump supporters ready to take to the streets to fight the "radical left". That number is abysmally smaller than that. No. Most wake up to the face that we are ALL being erased. Their empty pocketbooks screaming at them is finally getting through and Trump knows it. Get ready for a big bribe this summer from the GOP is the form of a big check or .50 gas.

Dude I keep seeing all of you people bloviating this nonsense. It’s very easy to just tell people “oh yeah just go kill people and risk your life.” And then everyone applauds and upvotes. It’s not about “living in delusion” it’s about how genuinely difficult it is to tell people to just go to war. It’s easy to just armchair this and I keep seeing it all over Lemmy but dude I haven’t even made it a quarter of my life yet, and most of my true cognizant semi adult life has been absolute dogshit. This is a dangerous misunderstanding of statistics. Most murders go unsolved because the victims aren't considered important by society. The police barely bother to investigate. Go after the bigwigs and they will find you. Look at Mangione. And he was pretty good at covering his tracks compared to most murderers.

Mangione is just the fall guy. The actual murderer covered his tracks, and the cops had to pin it on the most convenient patsy they had available.
The facade is broken. The goal of the Trump administration is to tear down the last scraps of democracy standing in their way. He's escalating and we are so close to an all out war, but there's also a reason this entire thing has been dragged out for as long as it has. There's a reason he hasn't just sent the military and Palantir drones into cities (yet). He needs at least some corporate support to survive and corporations still need people to continue to buy their shit. This is literally why he is starting a war in Venezuela, and taking over the Venezuelan state run oil company that until now was collecting 61% of Chevron's profits.
He has tanked the economy, and he is hemorrhaging support like he slashed his own wrists in a warm bathtub. For a civil war to break out, one "side" of the country turning on the other is kind of a necessity. Right now, there is no "side" for Americans to really fight. There's just Trump and his illiterate group of SS soldiers who are losing more and more support from his base by the day. Encouraging people to help him out by officially kicking off the "civil war" for him and attacking the fucking military police, is giving him exactly what he wants, and is about as shitty and transparent as encouraging somebody to go ahead and leave their finger prints on the gun you know will be used to frame them.
