I am curious, how many plates do people with dishwashers normally own? I own 4 and don't really have space for a dishwasher anyway, but sticking 4 plates in it seems wasteful. Most other things I have are hand wash only.
Oh my. I have over 25 plates probably. Probably over 30 if you count small ones
My childhood ones, my so's childhood ones, and their fiesta ware ones we dont use a lot.
Definitely have over 40 cups.
Is this not normal π
More normal than having only 4 plates
Why would I buy so many more plates than I need?
Because I would run out of dishes in a day.
Haven't you heard of dish stacking? Its all the rage.
You have childhood plates?
Haha yes because when we moved out we got all the parents old plates (and silverware) never really have bought new dishes. The fiestaware was used too. Probably a lot of our dishes are over 25 years old
I just went to my cabinets and counted. I have a set of 12 each of three sizes of plates: dinner, salad and saucer. Same for two sizes of bowls. Additionally I have some non-matching bowls and a couple of toddler plates. I only run my dishwasher when full, which is usually once a day but sometimes twice. Of course, itβs not just plates but also mugs, glasses and cookware.
We have 4 large plates, 4 small plates, and 4 glass plates that only get used when our friend that keeps kosher comes to visit. We also have about 12 bowls across 2 styles, which get used faster than the large plates.
