We all know it's a bribe, that's a given.

My question is, why do it this way?

It's not like the tax code doesn't give them multiple paths, so why do it this way?

My personal take is that Donnie wanted to do something to humiliate Melania. He knew she'd grab the money, but this way he can privately taunt her about her box office 'success.'
