Figured this post would fit best here. I've been so happy that it is finally winter proper here and all the coniferous trees and nature finally gets at least some of the winter they need to survive.

There's been an incredible frost for some days now. Been on my daily hikes in the nearby trail and it's so incredibly silent there, everything but some birds hunkering down against the cold. Walking there alone always makes me think of how easy it is to think of nature as sacred.

Tension just melts from my shoulders when I walk into a forest, it feels like an embrace.

I remember being a kid and trying to take pictures with a non-digital camera of a tree, entirely coated in clear frozen ice, on top of a high hill in a pasture during the early morning hours.

The tree looked like it was covered in shiny rainbow glitter, unfortunately my rinky dink camera (and having no photography knowledge) was unable to capture that. It just looked like a naked tree on a bright day. kitty-birthday-sad

Yeah I wish my shitty phone camera could convey the magical glitter, but it so can't.

It was literally raining glitter the other day as the sun was shining and it's very cold. I tried to take a video of it, but of course the glitter wasn't visible in the video at all.

It is.

It's been so still this past week that the trees have accumulated a thick layer of glittery frost. As I was walking today, a slight breeze hit some trees as I went by them and blew the frost into the air as the sun was shining from behind them. Incredible glitter show yet again.
