It's crazy how cars have been normalised since being called 'the child eating moloch' in the 1920s. Here, it takes 3-4 years to get your full license, that's as long as a degree. You're maybe told you're getting into a one ton missile that can kill people once when you start and that's it. Then you can drive by yourself after a year with no further formal lessons and only one actual driving test. There are a bunch of restrictions on driving because kids kept dying but the reasons for those were always individualised rather than acknowledging the mode of transport itself can also be a problem
