Vilifying billionaires is popular. Losing them is expensive. Most made their fortunes building companies that employ thousands and solve real problems. Their wealth is largely stock in those companies, not vaults of cash.

California benefits enormously when entrepreneurs choose to build here. We're currently watching them leave.

The Billionaire Tax Act has already pushed the founders of Google to leave the state, taking their economic contributions with them. By taxing unrealized gains and voting shares, the act would make it difficult for founders to retain control of their startups.

Actually, I’m for this. Make chuds be the ones constantly explaining and on the defensive. It ain’t the 2000s anymore so their “happy porks = utopia. Basic economics librul” isn’t as powerful.

Every “populist” turns into the smuggest, most insufferable technocrat when we discuss economics. Let them be the ones appealing to “I’m the expert, trust the (social) science!” or “it’s complicated, you wouldn’t understand.”

Chuds “fucking love economics” the same way they accuse us of “fucking loving science”. Let us be the anti-intellectuals making the short, quippy arguments they have to spend walls of text explaining.
