What's the point of satire if it can't keep up with how bizarre reality has become?
That was a thing during the first Trump administration. Comedians were complaining because anything Trump did would immediately be pale in comparison to what he did next. Just one really stupid thing after another.

I recognize that that type of comment is supposed to be a joke (and I’ll react accordingly, because I’m not a buzzkill), but it absolutely isn’t actually funny (ha-ha) for me.
Oh definitely. But it's hard to be funny at all right now. Because "ice murders entire retirement home" is too believable in the same way that "rental cars full of ice agents visit retirement home and does good deeds all day and nothing terrible happens" isn't.
This is why the creators of Veep ended their show.m when Trump got elected.
They need an episode with a disclaimer the whole time that this actually happened. It wouldn't be a fun episode though.
Like their Episode about Scientology?
Yea, but that still was a funny episode as their beliefs were played as a joke. There's not anything funny about sex trafficking and ritual killing.
