Well, ackshually....
How about you clarify what you mean, because right now, ambiguity implies that you think black people are apes. And if you're trying to make the joke that "all humans are primates", it's probably not the best time, or at least you'd better do it carefully to make sure it's funny and not cringe.
edit: Brief perusal of your comment history implies that it's not very likely you were going for a super-racist joke; probably the "all humans" thing. Maybe rework it a bit? :)
Time and place.
It's "All lives matter" energy while ignoring the root issue.
"All Apes Together Strong"
Fuck me that made me laugh too hard.
Well, I'd say time and place, but also phrasing. It's a joke I've seen made workable a few times elsewhere, but this was definitely not it. hehe
I had thought about making the statement too, "well, we are all actually apes" but then I thought better against it
Yeah, it's exactly the type of joke I would normally make, but same… I happened to think it through and thought better of it. lol
Agreed. I came to this comment section to see whether someone would make that point and whether they could do it without pissing everyone off.
I didn't expect it to be so amateurish and in all likelihood racist.
I'm glad my comment history passes the smell test.
It's OK to make jokes on serious topics. My joke was that some smartass would come in and make an accurate but ill-advised point. That's why I misspelled "actually" and didn't complete it.
I saw this post first, but there's another one with much more responses in a more popular community. Someone else made the joke, and it seemed like no one wigged out about it.
