Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. 6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

President “best deal maker in the world” couldn’t make a deal with Iran after ripping up the deal we already had, then he couldn’t make a deal with Israel to get our people out of there before they started attacking and now doesn’t have a plan to handle this like he didn’t have a plan to handle the pandemic because he’s so fucking short-sighted.

he’s so fucking short-sighted.

As we get deeper and deeper into MAGA 2.0, this pattern is becoming more and more apparent - these people act entirely on impulse, with only the immediate satisfaction of their instant gratification as their objective. It NEVER occurs to them to consider the next steps, or the consequences of their actions.

Noem/Lewandowski threw a tantrum in a South Dakota airport, and fired their pilot over literally nothing, and then had to quickly hire them back when they realized that they had nobody else to fly them home. It was either hire back the pilot, or take up residence in South Dakota, because they couldn't control their tempers.

Trump bombs Iran, supposedly to keep them from retaliating from an Israeli attack, and now they're retaliating all over the Middle East. They never saw that coming?

MAGA has an affordability crisis that is going to result in a bloodbath in the Midterms, but instead of doing anything about it besides tell people to ignore the evidence of their bank accounts, he bombs one of the primary oil suppliers, and then closes the waterway which transports 20% of the world's oil. If gas is below $4 by the end of March, I'll be shocked.

These guys can't get beyond the "That's wicked cool!" stage, to consider what might happen after.

They literally have a coordinated game plan everyone screamed about before the last election, it’s hardly impulse or flying by the seat of their pants.

Beyond that it’s impulsive looking distractions with no follow through because it’s just a smokescreen

The objectives were laid out in advance, but the execution is impulsive and haphazard, and always has been. Even in the MAGA 1.0, they instituted things like the Family Separation Policy with literally no preparation. They simply decided at a meeting, and made a phone call to start using the policy immediately. No planning, no system, no tracking, no identies, nothing. They just started separating kids, toddlers who didn't know their parents' names, pre-verbal babies, even nursing babies, and throwing them into separate facilities, never to see their mothers ever again.

By the end of the Biden administration, after a concerted effort to reunite as many kids with their families as possible, there were still 1000 children who are still separated from their families, and will probably NEVER be reunited. What's worse, is that now that MAGA is back, there is no news on what has happened to those children. Google it, this administration is totally silent on the remaining evidence of one of their most psychopathic policies. What has happened to those kids? Where are they? How are they being treated? What is the administrations policy toward those children? They were considered illegal immigrants, are they being deported? To where, to who?

That's the kind of impulsive action that causes chaos and cruelty, which they love more than anything, because it makes moral people outraged, and MAGA thinks that's even funnier than raping and murdering babies.

I imagine its less about them being impulsive and more about Netenyahu dictating a demand and them doing it. Israel has been trying to get the US to attack Iran for a while now. That, and its a nice distraction from the epstain files which was yet another Israeli operation. The whole world seems to revolve around Israeli supremacist manipulations lately.

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah, it’s terrible having leaders who are completely incapable of critical thinking and solely act on impulse that’s almost always based on completely incorrect data. Hopefully the midterms change things, if we still have them.

But at least the emotional woman didn't win, amirite?

[–] wampus@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 days ago

these people act entirely on impulse, with only the immediate satisfaction of their instant gratification as their objective.

So they're Americans, a product of America's instant gratification consumer culture. Shocking!

he’s so fucking short-sighted.

because he’s a fucking STUPID self-centered malignant narcissist - FTFY.

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I dunno about the art of the deal, but this entire spectacle feels like some sort of absurdist art performance. Nothing is real, up is down, lies are truth, parody is dead

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 10 points 3 days ago

The Art of the Deal was that the ghost writer got actually writing credit.
